We really love this place. The food is excellent, a great, varied choice and very tasty. Good sized portions as well. The staff are always very welcoming, pay attention to our needs and our strange requests for specials. They are always aware of where we are at and very quickly on hand if we need something. The ambience is very relaxing, no pressure, enjoy your food, conversation and the surroundings in a very homely atmosphere. All in all a very great place to visit - I highly recommend Ichiban, we will visit very very frequently.

We got the sushi platter with 12 piece and it was not that good. The octopus sashima was so chewy and rubbery. Like I couldn't swallow it. The salmon was good, but the tuna was dreadful. It felt like jelly. It's a bad texture. The tempura we got was delightful. It was sweet and crunchy. The choices of the veggies was questionable but still edible. I didn't like the unagi rice that much because I'm not a fan of eel, but my friend said it was nice. I also had a hand roll. It was a salmon sashimi with avocado, I love it, but the seaweed was so hard and chewy. Not my favorite type. Overall a great experience. Also I loved the decorations, it worked really well and made me actually feel like in Japan.

Ichiban is a Windsor staple, and where the food and service never miss. Iβve been eating here for a good few years, and when I go visit my dad (who lives down the road and eats here very frequently) we always have a meal at Ichiban. The staff are wonderful, fast, friendly and just incredible. The food is divine (we always have a dragon roll as they are otherworldly), Iβve had many dishes here and have never been disappointed. Itβs the perfect restaurant for a meal with family & friends, for a date or even a solo trip.

salmon sashimi has a good texture. The chicken katsu don is very good. Was expecting the egg to be more watery, but it turned out to be over hard which makes the don too dry. The eel don is nice too, however the sauce can be a bit too sweet.

Amazing plays. First time in this location. Staff very friendly and nice. Food was waauuu! Fresh , hot and tasty. We had rice tea, wine and worm sake. Prices was very reasonable . Per person we paid Β£30. We had a lovely evening. I recommend to have reservations ( we was lucky to have place without:).

Nice family restaurant in a busy Windsor town. We ordered dumplings, chicken ramen, chicken teriyaki, egg fried rice, chicken fried rice, ginger chicken - and they were all good. Though we felt chicken items had more salt than it should have. Dumplings were great - must have I would say if you visit this place. Staff is decent, and suggested good options too. The ambience is also nice and calm. There are plenty of parking options on the street, but it's usually busy - depending on what time of the day you visit. Overall, a nice Japanese cuisine restaurant in town.

The noodles has no taste at all, while the rice are not japanese rice and the overall looks are not attractive

I like eel rice (unagi rice) and everywhere I go, the eel always come in one piece, so you see the size and texture. Ichiban chopped the eel up into tiny pieces, and fried with the rice, the amount of eel is clearly way less than what it should have been, I doubt I get even one third of the eel and it's just mainly fried rice I get. Things like this they think they can "cleverly" cut the cost, but now they lost a customer and get a bad review. Never will I visit them again. Very annoyed.

I absolutely LOVE this place. It is always busy, but I am not surprised. Food is amazing and full of flavours! Big and tasty portions. Definitely ask for this chicken if you are there!
