We were two diners, we'd made a reservation but we're able to come a bit early, which was fine with them. Cold December evening, but it was lovely and warm inside. We sat at a window that gave us a great view over the lights of Manchester at night. We both had the same thing, calamari and a mixed grill each. They came in good time, and were delicious. My request for no chips was remembered (you'd be surprised how often special requests aren't honoured in restaurants, I'm diabetic, chips are bad news). We had a really nice meal, done to perfection and our two servers, Hannah and Georgia, were really attentive without being over attentive. Just there when we needed them. The food we had left no room for dessert. I didn't look at the dessert menu but it would have been nice to see some low glycaemic or low sugar options. Management, I know it was pouring with rain but we struggled to navigate the huge puddle outside the entrance door which was about 5 metres wide.

Diane the member of staff was very friendly and polite and allowed us to change tables for the amazing view over Manchester. There was no Turkey available on the Christmas menu, but there were plenty of other options available so we chose Gammon. The food was excellent quality and so delicious. We love the food and ambience here. A very nice place to eat and drink for any occasion.

Stopped by for food after hiking all day. This place is at a location good for hiking and for a nice view of Manchester. There were already no tables available in the restaurant at 4/5pm on a Saturday so we were told to eat at the bar area instead which the lady staff quickly gave us the menus and walked off. All the tables at the bar were dirty and no staff was available to clean them. Even the menu didn't look pleasing with creases and dirt spots. We ordered crispy squid, their seasonal special Sharing Board and Fish Pie. Beer and a hot chocolate. Strangely, my hot chocolate reached our table whilst my husband was still ordering at the bar. Otherwise, the food came at reasonable time. Portion was generous. The flavours were generally on the bland side especially the fish pie that lacked the smokiness (from smoked salmon) or the fishiness in general. Overall experience was so-so but will visit again if we hike in the area in the future.

Lovely meal of hand battered cod and beautiful golden chips with tartar sauce and mushy peas. Service spot on friendly efficient and knowledge about their role and the food and drinks. But to top it all a vista to cherish through the window with a bonus of aircrafte descending to Manchester Airport.well worth the drive from the city.

Although I've always enjoyed stopping by the Hare & Hounds Inn during walks with my dog, today was my first time trying their food, and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a pie, and it was fantastic - packed with flavor and generously portioned. My only quibble was with the mashed potatoes, which were a bit dense for my liking. Nonetheless, I'd highly recommend the Hare & Hounds to anyone in the area, whether you're looking for a drink or a meal. And in the colder months, the cozy fires make for a particularly inviting atmosphere.

This is one of the most stunning pubs I have visited. You get a great view of the city from the outside seating areas. There are few walking trails nearby. The staff and the service was flawless. Will definitely visit again

The location is stunning, lovely decorated, perfect to enjoy a meal. The service was not the best though: we waited a while to be seated because there was no one at the desk when we came in. When the manager showed us the table, she informed us that there were no vegetables left (other than carrots and peas) and also some of the dayβs specials were gone. This was a surprising info considering that itβs a well known place and itβs Sunday and there is a booking system, so I suppose you can roughly plan youβll need more food supplies. Katie was our waitress and she was kind, smiley and welcoming. We ordered a starter and 2 Sunday roasts. We waited 25β for the starters and, once finished, more than 40β for the mains, which arrived only after we asked for updates (this means that we sat at the table at 5 and ate our mains at 6.15). The food was absolutely delicious but we were quite disappointed by the size of the 2 roasts: 14.30Β£ each and 45β waiting were not worthy. If you want to go, donβt visit on a Sunday afternoon.

Lovely venue, friendly welcoming staff. I had the pork belly from the chef specials. Really nice, puree on the bottom was a bit lost but overall couldn't fault it We will definitely be back!
