I’ve been here before and l really enjoyed it, which is why I was a little disappointed today. The veggie breakfast wasn’t quite as good as usual, as it was a bit dry, the toast was thin with no spread, and the chopped tomatoes were cold. My eggs were missed initially, so I had to wait for those. It may have just been an off day or staffing related. The waiter was lovely as always, and I’ll still happily return as it’s normally a great place.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, the second time with family, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of dishes that were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant maintains excellent hygiene standards, which was very reassuring. One of the highlights is the dedicated kids’ play area, which makes it a perfect spot for families. Accessibility is another strong point. The location is easy to reach, and thoughtful design that ensures everyone can move around comfortably. The customer care was outstanding. The staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, making the experience even more enjoyable. The space itself is large and well-organized. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and elegant, creating a relaxing environment. Overall, this restaurant checks all the boxes—great food, clean environment, family-friendly amenities, accessibility, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Faultless. Actual perfection. I adore coming here and if i had the money to id be there all the time! Brought a friend today who had never been before and she was blown away and is planning to come back with her partner. There are also GF options. People who arent veggie need not worry.. you wont miss meat with a menu like this i assure you. I usually get the paneer options, sometimes a bhaji option (burger) but this time it was earlier so i got the desi avocado. Little one got a “picky bits” platter which is perfect for her. I wish there was wheelchair access so my older daughter could come but the way the building is doesnt lend itself to it. Fab play area for little ones and right by the park too. I normally come with my mum who adores it too. The seasonal hot drinks menu is amazing (though im boring and always have americanos or the occasional chai or turmeric latte)

Update April 2025: just been to Chai Village for the second time. The lady who runs it is just as friendly as I remember. Greeted as soon as I came in and made sure to say goodbye. I went for an iced vanilla matcha again which was very tasty! So much choice on the menu, I went for the Vada Pav. I wasn’t expecting two - perfect size for a lunch. So much flavour and just the right amount of spice. Can’t wait to try more food. Was nice to see the cafe so busy! After being recommended this place, I knew I had to check it out and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the two ladies working there were so friendly. I ordered a vanilla matcha over ice and a blondie. The food menu sounded so good that I’ll definitely be back for some lunch and a chai! Lovely, cosy cafe. The matcha was so good! Dog friendly too.

✨Amazing Indian Vegetarian / Vegan Cafe✨ We visited for the first time today as my partner is obsessed with Chai at the moment. For drinks I had the biscoff coffee shake which was sensational, the coffee wasn’t too overpowering and the roast / blend choice was delicious. My partner had the home brewed Masala Chai which he thoroughly enjoyed, and the pot of tea he received was massive! (We stayed a bit longer just so he could finish it as it was that good) For mains we had the Indian breakfast muffin (vegan sausage, Indian spiced hash browns, and a bbq tamarind chutney) and the Chai Buckwheat pancakes which came with syrup and berries. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich, the chutney was amazing and really pulled everything together. Though I didn’t try the pancakes they were gone within minutes. Both me and my partner agreed portion sizes were bob on, we felt full without feeling overly lethargic. Though we didn’t have the opportunity to try them the cakes and Indian deli looked delicious. Our entire meal with drinks cost under £20 which I think is ridiculously reasonably priced considering the quality and portion sizes of the food and drink. (Not to mention the very quick service!) It is also worth noting they seemed to have an extensive ice cream range. All staff were super friendly, the woman serving us really seemed to care about our experience there and we were given customer service you can’t simply buy without there being a true passion for what she was serving. I would highly recommend dining here, and we look forward to visiting again.

Visited recently for the first time to sample some of the breakfast offerings. Lovely warm welcome and atmosphere despite being pretty quiet at the time we visited. We tried the breakfast muffin (absolutely delicious, the aloo tikki were so beautifully spiced and the tamarind chutney was perfect) and the pancakes (apple and cinnamon, delightful, not too heavy and really tasty) along with some Kashmiri pink chai. If anything I would have liked the chai to have a slightly stronger flavour but I've not had it before so I'm not sure if it's meant to be very subtle. Really nice having the pistachios on top though. I enjoyed the food so much I took some treats home from the deli counter for lunch, and the Punjabi samosa was also beautifully spiced and so tasty. I really enjoyed trying traditional desi breakfast items and would like to see even more of this in the future if the menu expands, paratha is my all time favourite! I didn't try the cakes yet either but look forward to popping by for another chai and a treat soon. Fantastic so see a vibrant vegeterian offering locally, best of luck to them.

Loved it. Fully vegetarian and plenty of vegan options. Lovely owner and attentive staff too. Enjoyed the decor! Tasty lunch and brunch. They had vegan pancakes, vegan hot chocolate, vada pav, vegan cakes, amongst loads of other vegan dishes.

Cracking food and a tasty authentic masala chai served in a lovely hand painted tea pot from India. We were given a very warm welcome and were also treated to a free mango lassi that would otherwise have gone to waste. Oh, and the decor is fantastic too. Highly recommended!

Been here on two separate occasions now. I live around the corner and this is a very convenient cafe for me. Firstly the turmeric latte is divine, do try that. Now with it being a vegan cafe expect only your staple vegan curries, chickpea, samosas, paneer and the like. Personally vegetarian curries are the best anyway. Love me some dhall, spinach and potato's etc but they aren't on the menu. There are nice flavours to sample though, very aromatic, portions are on the small side, but it's not a restaurant. It's a light bite with a coffee. As a connoisseur of rice and three in Manchester, this comes no where near in terms of value and taste, but I'm hugely proud we have establishments like this popping up in Romiley. They have a selection of kulfi ice cream which is really unique, I do recommend you try as it's really creamy and they have interesting flavours to sample. The things they could improve, a ceiling fan wouldn't go a miss as it can get quite warm, they'd also benefit from a wall mounted fly exterminator, also the seating is really odd, they have loads of space but like 3 tables, and you only need one person to grab one of those and and there is no where to sit. They'd do well to get a long wooden beam that acts as a table put across the two big windows with stools you can sit on to look outside to accommodate individuals just popping in for a bite. There's a small children's play area to keep the little ones entertained which is a nice touch. All in all though I wish them the best.

Really enjoyed our first visit to the newly opened Chai Village for delicious Vegetarian Indian street food. For a light lunch, four of us shared Panel Tikka Salad, Samosa Chaat, Chana Masala and Rice, and Vada Pau. They were all delicious! We also tried some ice cream - the Pistachio Malai was very grown-up taste. We’ll definitely be back.
