Had a fabulous pre-panto meal. Staff were so efficient, friendly and so pleasant.... especially Matilda. Overall a very good experience in every aspect. Thank you

Visited here for lunch for the first time on the strength of the extensive menu on the website however, since a change of ownership, the menu is radically different and has a lot less choice. That said, what we had was well cooked, tasty and good value. Waiting time was good and service was excellent.
Went in last Sunday for a roast dinner with the family, we all ended up ordering cauliflower cheese as the lunch came with seasonal greens but not cauliflower or broccoli. The béchamel sauce was extremely watery and didn’t taste much of cheese. And considering it was quiet the waiter fumbled a lot, making the experience pretty poor. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.
Took friends here for Sunday lunch, we've never been before and we were very happy with the welcome we all received, even our 2 dogs were welcome. The Sunday lunch was, literally the best pub one we've ever had, plenty on our plates and tasted delicious. The service was also great, a very polite, smiling young lady served us. Lovely pub too, we will definitely be back, thankyou.

The beer is well looked after. I had Timmy Taylors - Landlord, which was great. I shared some Tapas with my Wife that were brilliant. The staff are really friendly, and the landlord made a point of coming over to say hello, making us feel welcome.

Went into this pub as on holiday and the two other pubs we went into didn't serve food. The waitress was very friendly and delivered our drinks very fast. We ordered our food and didn't have long to wait. The food was delicious and went down a treat. Well done the Duke Of York. Your great !!
This was the offering for sausage, mash and gravy. To say the gravy was insipid is being kind. The mash was awful, very watery. The peas were hard and undercooked. The chef apologised and didn't charge for the meal; eventually I got the sausages with chips as he was unable to salvage the mash which is why I have given 3 stars instead of 1 but I was very unimpressed especially as we had waited 40 minutes for the food in the first place.
