been recently taken over and it's much improved, really enjoyed our fish and chips... unfortunately they forgot the mushy peas so that's why it's only 4 star haha! Staff are really nice, and shop is clean with lots of seating. They also offer delivery... Decent local chippy!
Went in here whilst I had to wait for my brakes done. I ordered the £11.50 fish special. The staff were really friendly, it looked really clean inside. When the food came it was a decent size portion for the money, I actually struggled to finish it. The fish was really a good size, fresh and flaky. It melted in your mouth ,the batter on the fish was crispy and light. The chips were cooked perfectly and plenty of them as were the mushy peas, this also came with bread and butter and a drink. I would definitely come back in the future when im in Hyde
Used to go to this place regularly few years back. Changed hands since. Its dreadful! Been a few times just to give them a benefit of the doubt. They have young girls working there who look under 16, who has no clue what they are doing. Selling frozen fish fillets & frozen chips rather than fresh potato chips as chippy should do. Charging wrong prices & even so its well Overpriced for what they are serving. If the food is right, then paying high price is justified. But not in this case. No consistency of charges until I had to point it out to them. Clearly they have no clue. They also lie. I asked if fish is fried in the same oil as meat sausages. They said no. Then i witnessed them taking sausage out of the same fryer. This place can't be trusted unfortunately. Simply be honest to your customers! Disgusting!
Dinner time diners,ordered two fish and chip dinners,with peas and small drink,£11.50 each. Absolutely awful,cold chips a mound of mush,call them peas? the fish was the hottest on the plate,won't be eating there again.
I have to say that this chippy had been going down hill in recent years. Used to be a chip shop where people would say "that a proper fish n' chip shop" not anymore. Food quality is no longer as good but prices go up. But it was edible, but not the biggest complaint here. We believe its now under new management and we have seen new staff there. The owner was present in the the kitchen with 2 young women. And as we ate we felt uncomfortable due to his foul profanity. Every line of words he would speak had to have the 'f' word. I see it seems to becoming the norm it today's society as i hear more often than ever. But in a place of business and service its an absolute disgrace. Even the dreaded 't' and 'c' was used. Completely unacceptable. We ate quickly and had to leave. I wanted to say something but my partner didn't want the confrontation. We will never be back again.
PERFECT CHIPPY FOR LUNCH… Thank you so much to all the team at Bosuns. We have loved our chippy lunches over the winter. Food is always so tasty, great quality and we are so thankful for delivery. Paul and the team are super helpful too.
Far too many bad chips and they were only just warm, quality has gone down bit by bit lately..shame really

Been going to Bosons chippy for years as its one of the best chippies in Hyde. Probably the only chippy that has a small restaurant attached to it where you can have a meal and drink without leaving the premises. Ideal for families and friends to meet up. The food is fresh and of quality, fish is now only cooked when order which makes the fish better. Caters for most people who like English traditional chippy teas etc. The staff are pleasant and friendly.
this is a place for builders/laborers its nothing special staff were friendly atmosphere felt more like a soup kitchen food however was decent chips cooked perfectly curry sauce perfect consistency and taste allthough interior let it down for me
