   My experience with Chinese food in Britain has been solid but not mind-blowing. The classics like sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce, and crispy duck are everywhere, and most places nail the basics – the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable (around £8-12 for a main), and it’s perfect for a quick takeaway after work. Chains like Wong Kei in London or local spots in Manchester’s Chinatown deliver consistent, no-frills comfort food that hits the spot when you’re craving something salty and saucy. That said, it often feels a bit anglicised. The flavours can lean too sweet or gloopy, and you won’t find the fiery spice of Sichuan or the delicate dim sum of Hong Kong unless you hunt for authentic spots (like in London’s Chinatown or newer places in Birmingham). Service is usually fast but impersonal, and the atmosphere in many restaurants is functional rather than inviting. Overall, British Chinese food is reliable, affordable, and comforting – great for a casual night in, but don’t expect a revelation. 6.5/10.

   I have been a customer of Wok Ever for many years and enjoy the takeaways I ordered. The meals I ordered are excellent and good value for money compared to other Chinese takeaways in the area. I collect my order from takeaway as it’s not too far away and I don’t have to wait too long.

   Have been ordering from here a number of years, supporting a local company. However orderdd through their website recently only to notice payment taken twice, totalling £100. Called them to try to resolve, not helpful at all, just completely blaming the company that order's are paid through, not even offering me the contact details! So now i have to waste my time chasing money that was wrongly taken. Needless to say that was my last order.

   Food was absolutely stunning, order taken by lovely friendly guy and very helpful. The food was hot and really good. Delivery on time with very lovely delivery guy. Would definitely recommend.

   Avoid!! Don’t order for delivery. As previous comments suggest. You wait at least an hour after estimated time. If you call to enquire, you are fobbed off & told “well we only have 1 driver”. Why isn’t this advised at time of ordering?? Why then do you order through Just Eat”?? Food arrived cold & extremely small portions. Would never order or recommend. Awful

   NOT satisfactory. Food was ordered and I arrived five minutes early to collect and the food was ready to collect. I was hungry and ate my crispy fried duck although it was soggy and less than hot. My friend's sweet and sour king prawn was overcooked and the food had obviously been sitting around waiting for collection. I phoned to complain and was offered a derisory ten percent off my next order. This is not satisfactory and we will never use this establishment again.

   Love this place. Great food, great service. Such a shame people leaving negative reviews purely based on wait times. Guess what, if you order food at peak times at the weekend, there’s going to be a long wait. Have these people never ordered takeaway before?

   First time ordering from here on the Just eat app, ordered at 6.50 and told it would be 7.55pm delivery, a bit late for the kids but went with it. At 8,30pm phoned the restaurant and was told sorry but the driver was on deliveries and ours would be collected from them soon. No update on the app for delivery, no phone call to explain. The food eventually turned up at 8,55pm and hour late and over 2 hours from ordering..... Ridiculous... The food was ok but nothing to rave about. I will not be using this takeaway again as customer service is shocking.
