Absolutely delicious sushi and a well positioned franchise but the few times I've purchased from them they have been so miserable, it's off-putting!!
I’ve bought from here previously and liked the sushi so will be a frequent customer. Only addition is, they should offer egg-free mayo for those who don’t eat egg as well as for any vegans etc.
Genuinely some of the freshest and nicest sushi that tastes better than most big-chain sushi places (think itsu, wasabi...) which is to be expected with a family-owned business! For the price, it is very worth it and I'd highly recommend coming here if you want delicious sushi :)! IIRC, i got the salmon lover sushi for £10.50 and there were 18 or 20 pieces of sushi altogether? Ignore the presentation, I was carrying it in my bag.
Sushi Momoda has a bit of a monopoly in Rotherhithe. They offer fairly standard sushi - not the highest of quality but you should expect that. Their service is quick and the food is tasty enough!
A gorgeous day today and time for an equally gorgeous salmon poke. Sushi Momoda can never be faulted for their takeaway (or delivered) food. Impeccably prepared to the highest of standards. If you're in the Surrey Quays/Canada Water area and haven't visited yet you are missing a real gem.
TLDR; best and only choice for Japanese food around this area. A bit pricey but everything, including the sushi, is decent. There is little competition in terms of Japanese food in this area so I’m glad Sushi Momoda is here. The food is decent and although it is a little pricey, it’s better than having no Japanese food here at all. Ive been coming for years and can say that the sushi is decent. Tonight i had Katsu Don with Egg sauce. The flavour was good and the cutlet was freshly made. The soy sauce based sauce was just right too. However the rice was a bit of a let down as it has clearly been left in the rice cooker too long. It was mushy and overcooked. The stall used to be a tiny booth inside the shopping mall but has now graduated to a shopping container. This means that there is now open / outdoor seating.
Momoda Bento is an extension of Sushi Momoda, just outside of Surrey Quays shopping center (red metal container). Momoda Bento are an Asian fusion specializing in Japanese Bento boxes and Ramen. This Bento place has good quick service, putting together Bento boxes fresh to take away. The miso soup was creamy and tasty. The Gyoza was delicious. Crunchy on the bottom, and just the right amount of chewy on the sides. The rice and curry form a perfect blend. The salad had a surprisingly pleasant dressing. It's not cheap, but none the less, good value for money.
