Had a lovely meal at the carvery. Only issue was the young girl on the front of house was a little rude. But other than that food was great!

Came for the roast and was more than pleased with the offerings. Staff was very attentive and had a great evening. Some furniture seemed a bit dated, my chair wobbled quite a bit even while sitting still.

Fantastic Sunday lunch! Great choice of meats cooked beautifully and the all-you-can-eat sides were a real highlight – fresh, tasty, and plenty to choose from. Generous portions, friendly service, and great value. Highly recommend

Absolutely gorgeous food, we went for dinner & then breakfast the next day. Good price £12.95 for a carvery Mon to Sat. You actually get decent slices of meat, looo at how thick my gammon slice was & that wasn’t even the “large” upgrade. Breakfast was lovely, nice to have fried eggs unlike most places that don’t bother, the coffee was independent & not from Costa / Starbucks, as someone who loves coffee I was more than impressed, no sweetener / sugar needed as the blend of coffee bean was amazing. We was staying in the Travelodge opposite so this is really handy to have next door.

Second times coming here to the Sheldons. Very nice clean, friendly restaurant. I really enjoyed the carvery they do here as there's more selection of vegetables compared to other places. The service and staff are always great and fast, can't complain and I would probably come again.

Such a shame, the carvery was nice, but the service was just appalling. Firstly, I booked a private room online, I even spoke to them over the phone asking if I have to pay extra for the private room, and was told no. When I arrived I said ‘I’ve got a room booked’ and they laughed at me, saying ‘you expecting a bath with that room?’ I just didn’t say anything at the time. Then they took me to a normal table, so this ‘private room’ thing online, doesn’t even exist. We sat waiting for absolutely ages for our starters, longer for the mains, which they got mixed up and even longer for the desserts which they kept getting wrong, even though we preordered. We waited an hour and half for our desserts after our mains, they kept coming at separate times, most of us finished our desserts before a few of them even got theirs. When we were trying to explain to one of the waitresses what we ordered for dessert, she just stormed off half way through us talking to her. They were all just standing around the tills chatting and laughing, whilst we were waiting. Took them over an hour to take our plates and even then they took half the plates and left the rest until we had to ask again. When we went to pay at the end, we asked for the bill which they didn’t bring, so we had to just use the menus to work out our own meals. Then the woman behind the till was so disgusting to the other member of staff who told us he was new. She stated very loudly “well you should have listened then shouldn’t you! I’ll do your job again” making the atmosphere very uncomfortable! The poor lad was lovely and was doing a good job working his way through it. Beyond ridiculous service, will never come back, made my birthday 10x more stressful than it needed to be. The gentleman who we paid behind the counter and the man who served us our meat at the carvery were the only decent members of staff there.

Came here for a carvery. They were a little busy but handled the situation well. I didn't book a table I was just a walk in. They had plenty of food available freshly prepared. The beer was ok. Very nice atmosphere and the place was well decorated. Had an old English vibe to it with a nice lit fireplace and wood beams on the roof. There is parking outside, average size. The place is also pretty easy to get to.

Had a lovely experience at this place. Staff gave a warm welcome and were friendly and attentive. The pub itself is very clean with nice decor and music playing at just the right volume so as not to spoil the atmosphere. The Manchester ale and lager are very nice. We had the carvery and it was very good quality, the roast potatoes were to die for! The server at the carvery station was very courteous. Overall a lovely experience and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.

I have been going to The Sheldon Arms for a while, especially for a Sunday roast. They never let you down: very friendly staff (a special mention to Shannon) even when the place gets really (!) busy. Food is really good and portions are very generous. We really like it, as simple as that!
