An extremely mediocre experience compounded by the fact that we seemed to receive poorer service based on us using a voucher to pay. Festive set menu seemed good in writing, salmon starter was passable, but the roast main was poor. The potatoes were clearly frozen and were rock hard, the carrots unpeeled and browning, only a splash of gravy on the plate. They had no Dijon mustard (fine, not a huge issue) but just plonked colmans on the table with no explanation. Horseradish sauce had a hair in it. Glad we weren’t paying full price, won’t return!

Been 3 or 4 times previously for the roast dinner. It’s a good deal. 3 course meal for 35 a head. Soup was nice, sweet potato and red pepper, main roast beef was delicious. And sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Excellent. Nice venue. Nice staff.

Visited for a 3 course Sunday roast. Service was pleasant but felt impersonal, during our dining we must have had 6-7 different staff wait on us. The main dish was quality ingredients and tasteful but it could have been a tad hotter. It’s odd saying it for a five start hotel, but it’s actually the value of the meal that stood out.

Splendid afternoon tea at the Lowry Hotel. View across the river Irwell from our table and delicious savory treats with tea or coffee followed by tasty cakes. Some fine artwork in the lobby.

First of all, we went in, sat down, offered the menu. We did ask about if the traditional afternoon tea has the tea or coffee included. They checked and said yes, but didn’t explain what sort of coffee or tea they offer… a bit meh Got asked about if we have allergy 4 times in a row in the window of 10 mins, I guess it’s like a ‘triple confirm’ situation… Food was okay. Sandwiches are a bit dry and blend…(would have expected better quality)… scones were lovely. Desserts were okay. good size… nothing special. They did come and checked about if we needed extra coffee/drink every 10 mins, that might seem to be a bit too much or overwhelming… For the price point, I will definitely go to a different hotel for afternoon tea in Manchester! Or even Richmond tea room :)

Service: Very good. Food: The starter, pork belly terrine, was good, esp with the gochujang. The main, roast beef, was ok. I didn‘t like carrot but the one tasted delicious. The reason I cut one star was the roast beef was small, the steamed broccoli was too hard, and I was not given the wine I ordered. The one I had didn‘t match with the beef. PS There were many tables having afternoon tea set. For someone who likes it may have a trial.

Excellent venue and great staff. Presentation of food was superb. Food tasted excellent too. Portion size of monkfish was small so glad a side portion of fries was ordered. Overall was impressed but a couple of minor basic errors I would not expect from the Lowry: 1. Side portion of fries arrived on its own even before the starters! We sent them back. 2. Starters arrived but I had no soup spoon. Had to ask another waiter.

Service was less than expected with slow ordering and the beef was served well done when asked for pink. The food was nice but for the price I think this has a lot to make up compared to other Manchester restaurants. Not sure I would be back.

It was a very relaxing and beautiful experience! I took my mum for a birthday breakfast. The food was great, you get a continental breakfast buffet and can order few dishes on the side. The food quality was great and the price was really convenient. The service was amazing the manger that day Magdy, he helped us getting a beautiful dessert as surprise for my mum. It was my first time but definitely not the last!! I would highly recommend it.
