I've been going here for over 5 years now. Service and food has been consistently good all that time... My favourite dishes are haddock and chips, both of which they do very well, and pretty much any and every kebab they make (beyond doner, which itself is excellent, they know how to do Mediterranean and marinated (tandoori style) chicken). Just all round great food and pleasant experience from staff
The fish is spot on—light, crispy batter encasing tender, flaky cod, fried to golden perfection. Every bite crackles before giving way to juicy, perfectly cooked fish. It’s the kind of fried food that tastes fresh, not greasy. The chips are the ideal companion: chunky, fluffy inside, and just crisp enough on the outside to hold their own under a drizzle of sauce. They're proper chippy chips—hearty, hot, and made to be devoured. The mushy peas bring a soft, slightly sweet earthiness to the plate. Smooth, vibrant, and comforting, they’re more than just a side—they’re a tradition that never goes out of style. But the real star here is the curry sauce. It’s rich, aromatic, and slightly spicy with just the right amount of sweetness. Poured all over, it adds a bold kick that pulls everything together. It’s warm, flavourful, and utterly addictive—this is the sauce that makes you come back for more. The staff were there usual chaotic, hilarious selves, running the show like a well-oiled machine! BUT, I couldn't help but notice that someone's been missing these last few weeks, the lovely lady who has a quick smile and quicker comebacks. It's just not the same without her. Hope she’s back soon because while the chips are hot and the service is solid, the sass levels have noticeably dropped.
I’ve not been since the late 90s and it was one of my ultimate favourite fish and chip shops so I was worried the quality might have changed but I visited recently and everything I ordered wasn’t just good, it was cooked to perfection. I’m somewhat of a chippy enthusiast, really fussy and difficult to please but the food here is genuinely exceptional. The guy’s serving were really friendly and funny too. They seem to enjoy what they do and it shows in the quality and presentation of the food. I’m not local but I’m going to make a point to visit this place more often.
Probably the best Chippy ever! The kebabs are amazing, the fish and chips perfect and the staff are super friendly. Recommended!!!!!

Chips are very tasty, never greasy, and always cooked perfectly. The prices are great and the staff are really friendly too!
