   The fish and chips were a very pleasant surprise. The fish was fresh, with a crispy batter that wasn’t greasy at all, while the inside stayed tender and flavorful. The chips were golden, slightly salted, and perfectly crunchy. The portions were generous, and the presentation very satisfying. The staff were extremely polite, well-mannered, and always ready to help, which made the experience even better , If you enjoy simple, fresh, and well-prepared food, fish and chips is always a reliable choice.

   I honestly can’t recommend this place enough! The fish and chips were absolutely amazing,the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the batter was so crispy without being greasy. The chips were golden, fluffy on the inside, and just the right amount. Everything tasted really fresh, and the portions were more than enough. I’ve had a lot of fish and chips before, but this was honestly one of the best I’ve tried in a long time. If you’re in the area, you definitely have to try it,I’d go back in a heartbeat!

   I had an amazing experience at this place! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside , you can really tell it’s freshly made. The chips were golden, crunchy, and not greasy at all. The portion size was generous, and everything was served piping hot. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for authentic, quality comfort food!

   Extremely nice man running The Royal Cod. Fish and chips always fresh, not sitting under a heater for hours. The haddock, which is my preferred fish, comes in small or large portions. A large portion is sufficient for two and the chip portions are very generous. Because everything is made to order there is usually a short wait, only five or ten minutes. You can eat in and there is a 50p extra charge for this. The food is excellent. Cash only.

   Starting with the good, it's a big, clean and airy takeaway so you don't need to queue outside. There's a decent selection on the menu, including Irish Curry which was new to me. There is a table if you want to eat in, although there is a service charge for this. The staff are friendly and effective, and when I went they made a fresh batch of chips which were fine. However, the fish we bought were all very oily which is normally due to not being drained correctly or too low oil temperature - maybe it's a one off. The fish were a good size and cooked. I wouldn't normally go to so much detail, but Chorlton is full of competitive takeaways so the standard has to be high.

   Nice fish and chips however we have been a customer for years so the owners know were regulars. However we don't feel welcomed at all. They are miserable and act like they are doing you a favour serving you. I don't get any welcome. Just miserable faces and small portions for what you pay. I told my mum I'm not going back just for the way they make you feel. When you have a business you should treat your customers well especially when they have been regulars and are paying your pocket.
