Christmas Day 2025…. 5 stars. Food, Service, Atmosphere and Setting all brilliant!! First time we have ever been out for Christmas Dinner and after today’s experience we will definitely be going to The Waterside in future years.
We had a great family meal in November. Food, atmosphere, service and festive decorations were all fantastic. (We did not stay in the rooms - just visited the restuarant)
Even on a rainy day it was a great place to be for a small birthday lunch. Good menu choice, excellent food and non-alcoholic drinks (as well as all the usual alcoholic choices, of course) and a marvellous setting next to what is now a leisure canal. Comfortably well furnished and decorated. Best of all, a warm, friendly and helpful welcome from the maitre-d (Zak?).
Went in yesterday with 2 friends who used to live in this area over 60 years ago. Heard how good the Sunday lunch was, as the 2 were travelling, I didn't book a table as the eta was unknown. We walked in and saw a few vacant tables. Requested a table of 3 please. The young lady checked briefly and said all booked. This was around 6pm, I must say I've been involved in customer service for 40 years, I was disappointed at the lack of this displayed here. There was no alternative provided, poss. solution, temp add another chair to a table etc. We had a lovely Italian meal instead, as soon as we walked in the staff were assertive, attentive, polite and professional, well done Eden, your staff are getting it so right in providing good customer service, well done! In reply to you Jo, the meet and greet areas are 1st impressions, if a meal is served timely, you can have it within the hour. There were tables were you could have added a chair, considering accessibility and fire regulations. If any thought and action was considered. Reading other reviews, you also have lack of management training, involvement all linked, kind regards.
Had fabulous meal and drinks with girls. Food and service was great. Had singer on who was great. All staff were so helpful and polite but special shout out to James who went above and beyond! The baby Guinness were a big hit. Would definitely return
Went there for the second year running and the food did not disappoint. The food was hot and beautifully cooked. The service was very efficient and the staff were lovely, very helpful and aimed to please in every respect. Particular thanks to Jo for sorting my booking. So important to visit regularly to keep great venues like this going. We will do that and will also definitely be there again for Christmas next year. Happy new year to Mike and everybody working there and a big than you for a lovely Christmas Day experience.
People on here have said they don't want the piano player. Well quite frankly I think he is great. There aren't many places in Monton which are Riverside and have entertainment. Give the guy a break. He does well to play many tunes and sounds good over your Sunday lunch. Well done fella. You make my Sunday afternoons. I look forward to seeing him at the bar on a Sunday. Well done man!
We held the wake of a loved family member here 21.10.2022 and the food and service was outstanding. From booking and arranging with Jo to the actual day the service and compassion shown by all staff was amazing. Highly recommended for any bereaved family x
Had a lovely lunch with my partner here on Thursday . We just happened to walk by and decided come to in for lunch . The place is very shabby chic in decoration. Clean and friendly environment . I don’t normally leave reviews but that service and food was above and beyond . I asked the lady could I leave a review. She said that would be much appreciated and I asked her name. She said her name was Amanda & Stevie was also the other member. We will be back as there’s lots on the menu I would like to try
We visited yesterday for lunch and a catch up with friends. We were running slightly late and the staff simply said not to worry, your table is ready when you are. Gorgeous food and there is always a fantastic atmosphere. Really friendly staff, who always make us feel welcome. We’ll be back again soon!
