The full kitchen team needs to be retrained on how to cook food, or actually replaced, starting with the Head Chef. If he lets food leave his kitchen like that, he hasn't got any pride.

Very poor. I was served a flat iron Chicken breast that was raw on the reverse side. Once pointed out, they dealt with it quickly but that’s not the point, is it! Extremely disappointing especially as this hotel - other than the standard of food, is very nice. Last of all, the restaurant is freezing cold, very uncomfortable.

Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. The staff were excellent, food was lovely, and the restaurant has a very relaxing and cosy vibe. Perfect if you are staying at the hotel, or even if you are just looking for a place to eat in the area. Really pleased with the service all round. Thanks to the staff.

Stayed in the hotel during a 2 day training course. So we ate 4 meals in the restaraunt. Lunch, tea, breakfast & lunch. Food was terrible The buffet for lunch on day one was tasteless & dry. We had salt & pepper chicken & herb potatoes. The desserts looked lovely but didn't really taste of much. Tea I had a chicken burger & truffle fries, again a tasteless chicken breast in a bun with a slice of tomato. Truffle fries were just fries with some parmesan on them. Breakfast was the best meal of the lot, lots of choice. Lunch on the 2nd days was almost inedible. A steak ciabbata in a grill restaurant you would expect to be top notch. It was impossible to chew, I had to disect the sandwich & cut the meat up into bite size pieces as I couldn't get my teeth through it. All in terrible food & would not recommend the restaraunt at all.

Booked Afternoon Tea for my friend and I. This was my first visit and will be visiting again. The Afternoon Tea was lovely. Well presented and delicious....they also catered to my dietary requirements and double checked before bringing out the food. The restaurant had a lovely feel and is nicely designed and decorated. The staff were attentive and friendly.

Visited for our 3rd time for the £25 Sunday lunch , first 2 times fantastic 10/10 all round food and service. 3rd time we got charged £30 For the Sunday lunch , when we questioned it we got told it was for the pianist . So a table of 6 all paid £5 each to listen to the pianist who had been there every other time we had been . It’s the principal of the matter really not the £5 extra that has put us off . The waitress informed us there was 200 sittings on that Sunday all paying an extra £5 …… that pianists must be rolling in it . Apparently we should have been informed of the extra charge when arriving but then don't advertise the Sunday lunch for £25 . It should be £30 ………

Very disappointed as I was looking ward in having a nice meal at Marriott, as I have been there before. The main course was not hot, very luke warm .

Recently moved to the area and wanted a fancy meal, thought the Cast Iron grill would of been good given it’s menu; marketing and the fact it’s in a Marriott hotel. The food was horrendous. Starters where extremely poor and looked/tasted cheap, the steaks for the mains where more like frying steaks - super thin and over cooked, I asked for medium but got very well done. We also ordered some roast vegetable as a side, but what arrived looked so designating that I asked them to remove it. Instead of fresh roast vegetables we were given something that looked like shredded stir fry with yogurt on top - it looked disgusting! I’ve added a picture to show. We were so upset with the meal we didn’t stay for dessert. The service on the other hand was great - lovely and attentive staff! They removed the veg off the bill and gave us 20% discount as we were so unhappy - however the bill still totalled over £80 , so it’s not a cheap meal to be unhappy with.

Very poor quality food. Rib eye was like a frying steak. Pork tomahawk was like a cheap pork chop. Very disappointing. Will not be going back even though we live around the corner

Just had a delicious meal here, we were served by Alison who was lovely! The only complaint would be that a service charge of 12.5% was automatically added to the bill not giving us a chance to leave a her a tip for the great service. Not put us off though and will be returning for further meals.
