Congratulations to Tonge “Thai” on probably some of the worst Thai food I’ve ever seen. Flavourless, watery sauces with very little meat. The portion sizes are the worst I’ve seen from any takeaway, incredibly small - if they were using good quality ingredients I could possibly understand but they too are low in quality. Avoid this place.
Really bad experience. I ordered from Just Eat as I was looking forward to having some Thai food. Menu looked good and there aren't tons of Thai options near me. Once I ordered it said it would arrive in 1 hour, it arrived in 15 minutes. The food was obviously sat there made previously to when I ordered it. I ordered the chilli chicken topped chips/loaded fries, and received no fries/chips, but presumably the starter version of the chilli chicken. Food wasn't hot, but closer to room temp (confirming what I presumed with the food being made before I ordered) I was credited some money back on Just Eat because of these errors, but it didn't make it a nice experience. Also, the portion sizes for the starter version of the chilli chicken and satay Chicken are abysmal. 6/7 tiny pieces of chicken smaller than your average chicken nugget, really bad value. Tasted just ok once heated, but overall a really really bad experience. Don't think I'd recommend this place. I've also had many chicken satay in multiple places across the world, this was the first one that was in tiny pieces and in a sauce (not peanut) rather than on skewers and grilled. Didn't come across as authentic either. Not good
The curry was really tasty. We had chicken green and beef with red paste and holy basil. My only complaint is that the veg was slightly over cooked and the S&P chips were soggy. The also are starting doing smash burgers and included two samples which were really good! Fast delivery, polite staff. Support your local businesses!
Possibly the worse Thai I have ever tried in my life. The Thai green curry was watery and beige and the meat wasn't seasoned. The satay chicken was salty and so oily it leaked through the bag. Not authentic at all, not even close. Save your money.
Ordered online and it said delivery would be an hour, food came within half an hour and was hot and delicious. Will definitely order again, thanx
Fantastic take out, food is really tasty and good value and portions. Not used as often more recently because out of the delivery area but worth the trip out now and then. Keep up the good work.
I've ordered several times in the past and the food's always been delicious. Sadly, I moved out of the area but got takeaway a month ago and it's still great - the chicken pad siewe is especially good.
This used to be my favourite takeaway & reminded me of when I was in Thailand as the food tasted authentic. Fast forward a few years and it seemed that the opening hours very never accurate; calling during stated opening hours-not open, visiting during stated opening hours-shutters down. This was pre-covid and unfortunately it seems Covid has had a further impact. I was really looking forward to having food from here when I was craving Thai and I'm sad to say it was disappointing. My order did not taste how it should have done, it was extremely salty and I could not eat it. I don't know if it relates to it being cooked by British people, as opposed to previously being cooked by Thai people. The salt & pepper chips from here are delicious though! Absolutely recommend. I would try from here again but I will order Red or green curry next time. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. The inside is decorated like a street food truck and a sheet of glass separates the chefs from the customer, so you can watch your meal being prepared. They only accept cash so be prepared when you go.
First time we've been here and the food was amazing! We chose a selection of dishes and they were all fresh, great portion sizes and delicious. Reasonable prices too and good quality ingredients! Our 4 year old son loved his chicken satay from the Little Ones' Menu! Thank you Tongue Thai and we will be back soon! We can highly recommend them!
