Fantastic service and food. Definitely a hidden gem and also check out the specials board. Enchiladas Verde off the specials board was amazing and never had churros so fresh before. Can't wait to come back and try something different.
This is by far the best Mexican I've ever had in the UK. Everything, down to the decorations is authentic. The food is out of this world, the right amount of spice and all the flavour. My partner is mexican and felt so at home here. I had the tacos, nachos and chocolate cake and would definitely be back for more. The staff are so friendly and sweet, not overbearing just normal. The decor feels like a real mexican restaurant. I wish I could give more stars. The owners even gave us some of their homemade ribs that were to die for. Just amazing!❤️ Do yourself a favour and come here !!!
Best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is fantastic and packed full of flavour. Feels like you’re in Mexico when you taste how authentic the food is. Their guacamole and nachos aren’t like the regular crisp you get in the supermarket. They are unique in shape and taste. The staff are all lovely but José in particular is a lovely man. He is so hospitable and polite, just like other Mexicans I’ve met. Highly recommend!!!
This is a real Mexican place, we have just come back from south California where we had many Mexican style meal and we were looking for a place to revive the experience and I must say I was delighted that there’s a piece of Mexico in Birmingham, The owner and his family are so kind and forthcoming ready to help and explain the different dishes . Portions are really generous and really fresh so far from any chain/industrial feeling and this very rare for our city unfortunately. The Enchilada is one of the best dish I ever tasted and so the burrito and freshly made guacamole , the place is really small and this is also part of the charm thanks you to Jose’ and his family we will certainly come again
Not a very large location, but honestly and authentically Latin. The decor and music ensure you feel more central/South American than West Midlands. There is not a very large menu but they do have vegetarian options. They will also change something to make it vegetarian if you ask - such as vegetarian enchiladas. You really can’t miss with the food here, I’ve never had a bad dish. And that includes the flan and tres leches. Service here is quick, efficient, and just super friendly. Everyone here seems to love the place and it shows in how they work. Family seems to be a value here - and you feel it each time you eat. If you are looking to eat here, definitely call ahead and reserve. Even on weekdays it is usually pretty full. Recommendation: 10/10. There is a reason I ate here so much when I lived nearby. Just delicious.
Absolutely loved this family run Mexican restaurant. There are great vegan options! Vegan enchiladas, vegan burritos and guacamole with tortilla chips. They must make everything from scratch because the food is so fresh. The Tortilla wraps were really soft and unlike any I had tasted before. Will definitely be returning 5 stars!
The best traditional Mexican restaurant in Birmingham. Google Maps once again helped me out of a tricky situation, choosing a lunch venue when my planned choice was closed. As Brucie would say “didn’t it do well!” I walked into A La Mexican Authentic Mexican restaurant and was immediately transported back to the cuisine’s home land. It is bright and very colourful in side this comfy restaurant. The manager Jose, a man of Mexican heritage, made me feel welcome. He even gave me a lesson on Mexican regional cuisine. The menu will be familiar to most and best of all it has all the dishes is westerners love. Better still, they’re all prepared from scratch. I do love the zesty, juicy notes of dishes. When paired with the corn based shells, crisps, breads, you will enjoy. All staff members were chatty and humble. The price point of food was perfect. This is definitely somewhere to bring friends. Mexican food is for sharing.
