    Just a warning to everyone..This restaurant changed hands a couple of weeks ago and now is being run by chefs who don't know how to make Portuguese food. The food is poor and inauthentic. Worse the prices are still those associated with the previous owners, whose food we had tried and was great. Don't eat here. That's if you have the chance, I reckon it'll close soon. Ps; The dish below was roughly £15 and basically consisted of a can's worth of unseasoned chickpeas

    Feels like going on holiday. Really authentic experience. Everything was well cooked and prepared, beer and sangria were outstanding and not overpriced. Staff made us feel really welcome and we will definitely be coming back.

    Vaz is the restaurant to go if you want authentic Portuguese/Cape Verdean food. Northern Portuguese classics like the bifana & francesinhas must be tried. I also love the bife a cavalo accompanied with a mountain of rice & chips. The new restaurant is light & airy with tasteful nods to Portugal throughout the dining space as well as in the more relaxed bar area. A staple of the Bearwood food scene, go try it!

    Best Portuguese restaurant in Birmingham!! Please visit!!! Vaz Cafe is the best Portuguese restaurant in Birmingham; full stop!!! It's the perfect place to anyone who wants to taste and smell the true and honest flavours of Portugal. A restaurant where you get served honest and humble food from Portugal. Just like at home!!! Service is also very warm and friendly just like in Portugal. All I can say is: The food is ace!!! Ps: Left no food left on the plate.

    This year I've celebrated my birthday at Vaz Café in Birmingham, I miss the portuguese food and it was a good experience to do it at this small but very cosy portuguese restaurant. Starting with the staff, it was very helpful and friendly, the food was very tasty, how we like it. The always tasty cod with cream, the Bitoque(beef), the starters so good, specially the chouriço was amazingly good. To drink we had Sangria, very nice and with a special touch. Everything was perfect.
