This pub is an absolute gem. I've been visiting my friend that lives around the corner from this pub for 10 years and didn't know it was here. This pub is absolutely outstanding and the food is even better than outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble here. We went for an 85th birthday and were made to feel like part of the family. We all order different from the menu. I'm personally a vegetarian and was very impressed with my selection. My sister ordered the venison who has eaten at Michelin star restaurants and she said this was definitely on a par with them. My best friend ordered steak and he said it was the best steak he had ever had. The birthday boy ordered a pie and literally as we left. He was begging us to return the following week for the same meal again. Honestly we are in awe of this restaurant and pub and we will definitely be returning (the following week)

We had evening dinner at the Malt. The food is the best around. Great portions and so tasty! Atmosphere and setting is great, can’t recommend the place enough!

A lovely restaurant, fabulous decor and atmosphere. A lovely well balanced menu, from a good variety of fish dishes, to healthy corn fed chicken meals, to burgers, pizzas, etc. All meals lovely food well and presented. Staff are friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and visit again.

We stopped here without making a reservation on bank holiday Monday. We were lucky to be seated. I would recommend booking in advance. We had a late brunch, it was pouring with rain and The Malt at Landywood was the nearest place to stop and get out of the ☔ rain. I had a lamb kofta with chips and my husband had the Bengal lamb pizza. Both were very nice, I tried some of the pizza and I would highly recommend this. It was different, but very nice. Given four stars, we waited for nearly 25 minutes for dessert after we ate our mains. Otherwise friendly accommodating staff.

Came here for lunch on Sunday and the food was excellent. Good portion sizes and the food tasted great with excellent quality ingredients. You can tell they use good produce here. Good service from the staff with a nice pint of Guinness. The place is kept clean and looks beautiful inside a proper family pub.

First time to the Malt on Saturday. Lovely food, with reasonable prices, unusual to have quite a range of pizzas, would have liked to see more veggie choices. Service was first rate, with all staff being appropriately attentive. Great wood burners, seating was spaced out so that we didn't have to listen to other diners conversations (mostly!). Would recommend coming!

Really nice! Thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We ordered a fillet steak and the beef short rib. The pub is beautifully decorated and has a nice cosy atmosphere. Service was great, really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning and highly recommended :) x

I came here to celebrate by partners birthday on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was amazing. For a Saturday it was busy without feeling too crowded or rowdy. Tables were nicely spread apart so it didn't feel like we were sat on top of the people next to us. Service was nice and quick, we weren't left waiting long to order and staff were very attentive making sure everything was okay for us. The standard of food was amazing. We had a pizza each and they were cooked perfectly. There were just enough food options to have a good selection without it being overwhelming. Meal came to a good price for the standard of food. We can't wait to return again in the summer when we can enjoy food and drink in the garden.

All I can say is that the whole experience was remarkable, the staff were friendly and polite, food was amazing with one of the best burgers I have had chips spot on. The dessert was a good size and had plenty of taste. The pub itself is stunning and could spend an evening there enjoying the decor and having a drink.

Our first visit here for dinner on a Monday night. The restaurant claims to be wheelchair accessible but it definitely is not. It was very tricky getting my wife who has limited mobility into the restaurant and although there is a wheelchair accessible toilet it is in the bar area which is down a small flight of steps from the restaurant. On a positive note the service and food were excellent. The selection was good with several unique items which were all lovely. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The food was hot and tasty. The decor and washroom facilities were all excellent. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
