Had fish n chips from here over the past year while visiting a friend who is no longer able to get out. Always enjoyed them until today! Chips bitty, smaller portion, nothing like the usual ones. Felt disappointed to give them to my friend today.

Ordered fish butty, two young lads, he had to fry it fresh so thought it'd be a decent fish. Boy was I wrong, it was tiny little fish, batter very think and burnt too. Paid Β£7.20 which is a rip off. I don't mind paying when it's decent quality but this was a joke Real shame as normally it's pretty good, I'll be going Robin Hood chippy from now on. It's consistency good. Reply to your reply: all fine saying that but when you've travelled 10mins home what good is that? If your offering to put right, I can pop in next time in Rothwell and you can put it right.

The food is ok but nothing special but the staff don't pay attention when giving your order, too busy talking amongst themselves. Plus pretty sure I've been over charged on a few occasions, or perhaps the prices on the board don't correspond with the prices on the till.

Got a fish and a fishcake today and have to say they were terrible. Both were dry and had obviously been in the oven for quite a while. I shared both the fish and fishcake with my wife. When eating the fish I found a long black hair in the fish (my wife has short blonde hair). It all went in the bin. Not be visiting there again.

An unpleasant experience today regarding very rude staff. The woman serving me didnβt smile once, i asked if I could have a carrier bag & was expected to pay the 10p on card.. all for a flimsy carrier bag thatβs not worth a penny! I then asked to put my own sauce on my food and she rudely said no due to covid as she didnβt want me touching the bottle.. yet I had accepted food trays touched by staff that were not wearing gloves! So I was forced to pay 95p to buy sachets instead. My 6 year old son even commented on how βmeanβ the staff were. Read the other reviews about the staff, it seems itβs a common problem with this place & I suspect the reason for such a low customer satisfaction rating. Awful place, Thereβs a much nicer chippy on the same road a bit further down, I would recommend going there instead, the staff and food are much nicer (Please see snotty reply from owner as expected.. she seems to do this to most customers that dare leave a negative review)

This is the worst fish I have had in a long time, completely dried out as if its been sitting all afternoon and not cheap either. Why not give the customer freshly cooked fish? The chips were average and parsley cakes were freshly cooked.

This is probably the best fish shop in the Rothwell area. The staff are very friendly and helpful & the price is very reasonable. There are some benches opposite & on fine weather days it is a great place to sit and eat there.

Very dissapointed!! Ordered fish and chips x2 and small fish and chips x2 when i got them home and opened them i couldnt tell the difference between them all. The chips were literally potato skins filled with oil !! The staff looked miserable like they hated their job, but to be fair i can imagine they deal with alot of complaints. Curry sauce had zero taste/flavour. And it was more a case of hide and seek finding chips underneath the mountain of scraps. Will not be going here again !!!
