We love coming to Ranskill Chippy. The ladies are all bonkers but every Friday we have wonderful food. Love being a local and get treated like a regular. Highly recommend! 5* all round :) Thank You
EDIT: Went back with cash and the service and banter was top notch. Food decent too. Would recommend Heard great things about this place so drove up for big Friday tea for the family only to walk in and see 'Cash Only' sign. Chippy tea not cheap these days so didn't have enough in pocket to pay as, like most people, don't tend to carry cash these days. Will probably come back another time to try the food and leave another review then
The two ladies that were serving here were welcoming, warm ladies. Alas as a vegetarian I could not eat here as they cook in meat dripping, but my friend loves the fish and chips from here. She had had 4 months of terrible hospital food after a stroke, how do they expect patients to get well on food with no quality, she craved the fish & chips from this establishment. One wish granted. My friend highly recommends, crispy batter, amazing taste. I could only smell the chips!!
What a lucky stop this was. Some of the best fish and chips we've ever had. Friendly service from the 2 ladies serving up the feast. They let me sample the Irish curry in a small pot with a few chips and again it was superb, so a pot added to my order. Very highly recommended.

Excellent service by friendly staff. One of the few fish shops who cook my favourite Yorkshire fish cake. Recommend.
Happy friendly staff. Unfortunately got my phone order slightly wrong (It was during their busiest time on a Friday evening) but rectified it quickly when I queried what I had been charged (an item I didn't order). The member of staff serving me didn't check my food before I left and missed a side order. The quality of food was good and it hasn't put me off from going back, I'll just be asking them to check the order before I leave.
Very Disappointing Well appointed chippy. Seemed busy. Service from the front team excellent. Ordered 2 x fish and chips 2 beautiful large cod fillets despatched into the fryer.. This is where it all went wrong . Got home opened the packet and got Over cooked tasteless fish, batter was over cooked and not seasoned. The tail end of the fish stuck to the batter and so very dry. Chips over cooked too and not of a good standard. Sure this is a one off. £15.00+ too expensive
