   Top chippie, excellent portion size, clean, well organised. Sells kebabs as well. Friendly young staff. Park in the carpark at the back by the side of Sainsbury's.

   I can’t just review the fish and chips .. which are in my opinion the best in Wolverhampton.. whenever I visit my family from up north I have to have my chippy meal from here they are delicious. My review goes a bit deeper but has to be told . I called in peps on my way back from New Cross .. I was emotionally spent and had a hard job putting my order in … which at one minute to nine I was lucky they still served me . Realising I was upset .. this absolute angel came from the counter to give me hug ! It was the best hug ever because in that moment I never needed one more . I was given a free coke and in between sobs I was calmed down and listened to by this beautiful person . I’ll never be able to say have grateful I am for that encounter .. in this vile world we live in kindness isn’t given out very often to strangers . Thank you my darling . You’re a very special lady xxx

   We as a family have used this chip shop for many years, and we do have a big order every Friday, unfortunately the quality has definitely gone down these past few weeks, the chips were very dry and seemed stale, not thick and juicy, just little scraps basically, the fish tasted different like they have changed something, the only good thing was the batter on the fish. I tried some chips from a different meal and they were all the same. Our order was £36, we came back with all the food and requested a refund, which was kindly given. The only good thing I’ve noticed is there is not many queues anymore. Just for reference we came in on the 20/12/24 @ 1700pm. Off to find a new Chippy, Shame really as Peps was the only decent one around here.

   No complaints, Fish and Chips were 10/10. Usually big queues on weekends and some evenings, however this goes down fairly fast and is definitely worth the wait. Thanks guys!

   Just so you know Peps Plaice chip shop that rules from a great height. First things first... The Chips. I'm new to the delight of Wolverhampton chippies but even though battered chips aren't a Birmingham staple I've experienced them enough to know when they are exceptional. These are just that. Just enough to add an Extra level of taste but not make you feel like you're eating your way to an early grave. That said I would suggest sharing a large bag between at least two people or going for a cone of chips to accompany your choice of fish. So how about the fish? Well when fresh the batter is light but strong enough to hold the ever so light cod within. When not as fresh out of the fryer the batter soaks up the vinegar and softens while the cod holds its flakes. Peps Plaice really put the effort in and when they are busy they have plenty of great staff to serve you as quickly and as friendly as possible. Even the curry sauce and gravy stand out from the crowd. The quality is way higher than most inland chippies so in my opinion they are not to be missed.
