    Served by a very positive member of staff who was attentive to both myself and other customers. Served as quick as necessary when the food is cooked to order. The small fish was enough for me and both the fish and chips were cooked inland,mmm, excellent. Living down south I don't get good fish and chips that often but at Alikat I had the best meal for years. Bonus... they sell spam fritters which is another gem missing from southern menus! Very good value for money. I will return.

    I've been here a couple of times the chips taste stail are under cooked thoughly and have a pungent cheesy and fishy smell how they've been open this long without food standards agency breathing down their neck I don't know

    Took ages for the food to arrive. All cold. Special fish and chips @ £11.50 tiny. Smaller than a regular at other restaurants and the regular was almost laughable. First and last order unfortunately

    Was waiting 10 mins until I coughed loudly to be served as she was mopping the floor didn’t even wash her hands after .Horrible cold food slapped in the box like mush asked for no tomato’s on one of the breakfast and she wrote on the bag no tomato but guess what we got tomatoes.but it was not even busy to make a mistake. no cutlery or napkins we got a plastic fork to eat our food which snapped in our food . The food went In the bin.Only thing that was nice was the small cup of tea. Breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day and our day went down hill from there x

    A real gem of a place. Fish was fresh and haddock which was a bonus, cooked in beef dripping too! Really reasonably priced and friendly staff. Would recommend 100%.
