   The other reviews don’t reflect my experience of the hotel restaurant at all. I had the crab salad to start and the duck for main. Both dishes were excellent, and service the entire evening was top-drawer. It’s the sort of restaurant I would book even if I wasn’t a guest at the hotel.

   Came here last night as I had the romantic package and stayed in the hotel. The meal was included with this package. To say it was 19:45 on a Saturday night and there was barely anybody in speaks volumes. We overheard a couple next to us as she had told them she had a dairy allergy and the chef messed up and gave her dairy. I should have saw this as a red flag and left. I waited it out and received my food. I asked for a medium rare steak which came out literally raw. It was so cold and a horrible texture. I did not eat it nor did my partner as their meal wasn’t very good either. We gave our plates back and was offered them to be re made. We did not want to wait around any longer and was just so shocked at the service that we just left. Had to go out and buy something to eat from a nearby restaurant for our 5th anniversary even though I’d paid a lot of money to the hotel to have dinner there that night. Very disappointed and will not ever return ever again. What a waste of money unfortunately.

   Extremely disappointing afternoon tea. The quality of the food was mediocre at best but what really disappointed me was the service. They forgot our drinks to start with, so was served food with no drinks. 5 mins later he then brought us the tea/coffee but with no milk which was a further 5 minutes. The jug of water had floaters in it, again with nobody around to say anything to it didn’t get resolved. I then asked the ‘manager’ when we paid if there was any way of leaving feed back (as we never got asked how everything was) he said “no I don’t think there is to be honest” and again, did not ask if everything was alright. Would not recommend and will not be visiting again. I’ve had better served afternoon tea at a cafe.

   Fine dining is the expectation. Kids portions is the reality. Can't belive what I paid for the food. The chef clearly has talent as the food itself tasted lovely but no one in the resturant looked particularly enthusiastic about the portion sizes of their meals. Know your audience!
