   Been here a few times over the years and was wary today after reading the reviews. I had a great experience today as I always have, They have a great varied menu and options of jacket potatoes for slimmers or vegetarians, fish bites meals for children. The prices I say are reasonable especially compared to others in the area. The staff were lovely people ,courteous and professional and the fish and chips were delicious especially the fish very moist with beautiful crispy batter. I only ordered a small portion of fish and chips (light bite) just over £6 and it was enough for me. Definitely be back often when in the area

   Only ordered a fish butty waited an hour for it, to then get a text saying order is delayed and I would be waiting even longer. What were you doing, catching the fish yourself? Ended up cancelling my order. Update on this, I haven't received a refund due to my order being prepared. How was it prepared when you told me it was delayed? So are you saying you threw the fish for me in the bin? I highly doubt it. It was probably sold on to someone else. I have made a complaint about this, as you are out of order. Everybody avoid this chippy.

   After having food which was of poor quality we made a complaint direct to the manager. It was agreed that the quality was substandard and a free meal was offered. We decided not to accept the meal but tried again this evening. It was awful. Peas were burnt and made the whole meal taste of them. The chips were dry as though they had been standing too long in the warming counter. No third chance from us.

   Chips were freshly cooked and nice but the batter on the fish was soft and soggy. I might be out of touch with fish and chip prices but felt it was on the pricey side, around £9.50 for fish, chips and small curry sauce. I would go again as it is local and I understand that not every takeaway is bang on.

   Absolutely horrendous food. This is meant to be a fish cake, no filling and batter was old and crusty. Couldn't even eat it as it tasted so disgusting. Brought 3 sausages, 1 fish cake, a large and small portion of chips and it came to £16!!!! The chip portion was tiny even though we thought we over ordered. Definitely will never be back to this place again!

   Scraps of Chips nothing like real chips. Special fish was nice but the chips were brittle, scraps. Expect one or two but this is what I received in photo.Terrible

   Good ambient with many dishes to try. The basic haddock and chips was really tasteful and well cooked. The staff was always nice and kind.

   Oh dear. Truly meteoric fall from grace. What was once a truly excellent example of a locally owned fish and chip restaurant is now a venue that I would not frequent except at the request of another person. I first came here 18 years ago and used to come regularly with my two young children where the standards of food and service were incredibly high. Over the years I have still eaten here regularly and today I feel will be my last visit. Today it took around 20m before our order was taken even though the restaurant had around 20 customers in. When the food came 3 items were missing and I eventually had to go the counter to ask for them as the service was so poor. My wife then had to send back her salad as the salmon was raw inside (bizarrely served on a hot plate!?!) and quite frankly inedible. My children then noticed their chips were almost hard i.e. also undercooked. Maybe this is a new chef on duty? I attach a photo of my plate. This is an example of what you get for ELEVEN POUNDS! This is not good. For 5.95 you can get this plus a drink at Wetherspoons. Such a shame. I wont be coming to Websters again. They need to increase their portions, improve their quality, and work on their service. Everything seems to have deteriorated and stuck 18 years ago. There is a wealth of choice 5 minutes away.
