We all had the turkey with trimmings, fish and chips and a steak and chips! The food was absolutely beautiful, the turkey and trimmings was really nicely cooked, gravy was some of the nicest I have had! Just lovely food, the bar staff and chef were really good people! Awesome
Had a lovely meal here with my wife and mother in law after a visit to Halifax Christmas market. Great food, great service and atmosphere, friendly staff. Can heartily recommend.
We came here last Friday at the start of our weekend away. The food was delicious! The portion sizes were huge, everything was made fresh and my steak was cooked to perfection! The staff were also very welcoming and lovely.
After a nice walk at the nature reserve this was the perfect place to relax and have some great quality food I had the pie of the day which was a very generous size and good value for money
We came into the pub famished after a long walk. There was a big car park! Nice! What we needed! The pub screamed love for dogs. Another tick. We were served by very polite and friendly staff. There was a bit of a wait but the food. Can't express in words how much we liked each meal we ordered. The presentation and the preparation both excellent. Will be coming back again for sure!
The Sunday dinner was the star of the show and all were very happy with that. Some starters were great including the black pudding and chicken tikka, but fish cakes which consisted more of mashed potatoes and breaded mushrooms weren't the best. I was disappointed when it came to desert, all ordered with custard were drowned, I couldn't even see the crumble. Staff were friendly and a nice warm atmosphere was felt.
Hits the Sunday Lunch spot every time. Smoked salmon and crayfish tails starter is recommended. Roast beef dinner is top notch. Friendly and efficient staff and a welcoming atmosphere.
Staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and great value. The pub is dog friendly but don't let that put you off as there is a separate eating area for non-dog lovers. I would highly recommend this place to eat
