Mei Dum, an old - fashioned Chinese restaurant, nests on the Faulkner Street, and a few steps aloof of the Manchester Memorial Archway. It is a very traditional Chinese restaurant. Like other Chinese restaurants in the China Town, all Chinese groceries are just accessible surrounding to its next door. People can easily make shopping from one to others after having their yim cha. Mei Dim does not have a sizeable dinning hall but it can accomendate about almost 150 people. It opens a half hour early vis-a-vis the others in The China Town. Dim sums are decent at a very reasonable prices. The BBQ pork steamed rice rolls filled by BBQ pork, the fried glutinous rice dumplings and the steamed BBQ pork and pan-fried pork buns are a must to try. Singapore-style rice noodles is one-of-the signatures. Want to warm up your body? Why not order the these noodles. It is a little bite spicy as most people can stand for. We had a yim cha with friends this afternoon. It costed almost Β£12 each.

Awesome Chinese restaurant serving a wide variety of classic Chinese and Cantonese dishes. Ordered the salted fish chix fried rice, roast pork roast duck rice and the salted pork chops over rice. Food were prepared fresh upon order and food was fantastic!

Had 2 dishes, Singapore vermicelli and roast duck, roast pork, char siu rice. They were not upto my expectations and were just of marginally average qualities. Perhaps what you would pay for what you would get (these were special offer dishes cost Β£11.80 each). Besides, a dim sum named fried squid paste, that was quite good.

What is it with authentic Chinese restaurants and abrupt attitudes? The food was authentic, not the best but still enjoyable if you know what you're having. This place seemed to be directed towards a mainly Chinese clientele, which is always a good sign. The menu has English translations, but there are Chinese signs for specials or secret items that have prices but no English versions. Cash only if you spent less than Β£15. I took away an entire star because they had the blandest beancurd roll I've ever tried.

Unbelievably poor service. Staff was rude and rushed to get our orderβas if they wished we weren't there; as if we were an inconvenience! Then, the food: Tasty, but very small portions and it felt like it was frozen beforehand and defrosted right before being delivered to our table! I am pretty sure this is what happened because the food had arrived at an astronomically high speed. Would not recommend and would definitely not visit again. Even if they paid me to do so.

First time coming here for dinner and we came in as a group of 8. I was pleased to see dim sum was still around after 5pm but we mostly ordered main dishes. Decent portion at reasonable price since it's in Chinatown / city centre. Service was good and attentive considering it was quite busy at that time. Would come back again.
