Excellent Indian food restaurant. The building is a former church and the restaurant had made full use of some of the original church architecture features to add to the ambience. Excellent quality food and great atmosphere. Although not the cheapest place for a curry, it's not overly expensive either. I guess you get what you pay for and I feel that the meal I had was good value for money. We are booking again for another meal at the end of this month.

Starters were really nice and service at first was good. Then a large group came and the service dwindled. Waited a while for another drink despite ordering it before the group had ordered theirs. The mains (albeit just chicken tikka massala) were really bland and the chips could have done with another 5 minutes. Then we had quite a long wait for them to bring the bill after asking if we wanted any coffees or desserts. All in all it was okay, but I don't think I'd be in a rush to return unless I was up Hindley way.

First visit but wouldn't return. The building is nice, the waiter was very professional but it lacked warmth and atmosphere. The mixed starter was very small although tasty and the main (chicken Shaslik ) was tough and dry, I thought it was quite pricy for what you got, I have had much better. Not much more to say really, underwhelmed!

We came here last week for the first time. We had booked a table. When we arrived we were told gruffly to wait. When our table was ready we wrte just handed the menus. There was no friendliness or niceness at all. We ordered drinks, the only wine they have by the glass is on tap. I ordered a mojito, only for it to arrive with no mint and to taste like rum and lemonade. Starters were ok. My lamb main dish was tasty but my husband's chicken was not great. When collecting our plates or taking our orders the staff barely said a word but were laughing and talking to each other near the bar. There was no atmosphere or music at all, there were a few people watching football or videos on their phones which was the only noise. Really disappointed as the reviews were so good.

The service was not great, i didn't like the way i was asked to follow someone to the table, we got the drinks pretty quick, then where left why several other diners had orders placed before us prompting us to ask someone to take the order. The food was bland, and the waiter rude. We then asked for the bill, and they never came to collect it,so i had to take to the bar myself. Overall, I've been to several other places a lot nicer than here and wouldn't go again.

Overpriced, not allergy friendly. We have curry often (probably every week or so) and at other places it hasn’t ever been difficult to sort something without nuts or soya, however at the Mahabharat it couldn’t be sorted. At first I was told I could have anything I wanted, but I refused, as I would have got very sick. My friends paid 30 quid each for rather small portions. One pint of water was 5.45. We won’t return :)
