Chose the fish and chips lunch time offer but was told it was only available at certain times, didn’t say this on the menu! I pointed this out but was told I should have checked the Facebook site as that said what time the offer was on, not the best response! They need to make it clear on the menus when the offers they advertise are available. What we ordered was nice enough but it’s not fine dining.

The food was lovely - steak and ale pie & braised beef were both home made & the sticky toffee pudding was gorgeous. The price was reasonable too. However, this is definitely not fine dining - the vibe of the place was like a cafeteria. Simple changes could change the atmosphere - the waiting staff were dressed in leggings & trainers - black skirt/trousers & white or black blouse/shirt are the norm in the hospitality world, especially for evening dining. The menu had photos - similar to what you get in Benidorm & the dessert menu was a white board, written on with a black felt tip pen. The lighting needs to be more subtle too. We will definitely return & will recommend to others but Gallimore's needs to decide if it is a restaurant or a café.

All 4 of us had the £10 steak meal. Steak was perfectly cooked served with home made chips and salad, couldn't fault it. We followed it up with the cheese board, 2 of us had puddings & lastly 1 of us ordered the old favourite (apple pie & custard). The new owners are really nice & the atmosphere is cosy. Reasonably priced for the quality of food served. Disabled toilets available and Wigan bus station just a short walk away, brilliant for leaving the car at home and having a few drinks. What more could anyone ask for.

Ordered Cumberland sausage and mash and my partner had Gammon with egg. Food was very hot and fresh. Best Cumberland sausage I ever had. The new owners are so lovely. Definitely recommend to try it out.

Food is very poor quality and expensive. Staff need training. Put our cutlery on the table holding the ends that we eat with. Steak and Ale Pies full of tinned stewed steak and taste of ale, no gravy, juice or butter. Small portions. Gravy was about 4 table spoons, I thought they were joking... Staff in and out smoking on the front. Stock deliveries taken through the front door disturbing customers. Absolutely no attention to customers, just stand about chatting. The chips were nice, dessert Lemon cheesecake was nice, drinks well over priced. It was out first time here, never again.

Went yesterday afternoon (Friday) with my Sister and Mum. Both me & my sister had the Sirloin steak and Mum had the Gammon, all were Cooked to perfection. The staff were very helpful & friendly, would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely Sunday roast at Gallimore’s today. We asked if we could sit outside as we were on a walk with our dog, and once our food was ready the owner offered us to sit inside and brought some water for Pablo. Food and drinks were delicious and 5* service, would highly recommend. Thank you :)

Called here today for Sunday dinner, not impressed. Doubt I'll eat here again. Not a lot of veggi options and children only allowed one portion of ice cream even though we have paid full price for a starter for them . A little bit of flexibility would have gone a long way but inexperience is not customer friendly is it.

A little hidden gem in Wigan. Food when it came was very good. We went as a party of 5 for a birthday meal. We seemed to wait quite a long time for our starters. Longer than some others who we watched order same time or after us. When it came though it was really good. I opted for the steak pie. Amazing. Service would have been 4 stars if it wasn't for the wait. The staff were very tentative and always asking how are food was. I was always asked for feedback on my pie especially the gravy as it was a new recipe. Well, please keep it on the menu. It was huge and full of meat. Wine and beer was good. Main course was so filling I didn't sample the desert menu but a friend did and had no complaints. In fact they put more on his plate as he couldn't decide between runny cream, squirty cream or ice cream. So he got all 3. Bill time was surprising. Cheaper than we thought and let us split the bill easily. Large tip left. Will defo go back.
