My friends fathers birthday party. Room was ok, shower poor. Staff were mostly nice though one member of male bar staff thought it was appropriate to kick off at one of our party due to a mere misunderstanding on when the bar closed, one colleague said it was ok then he came in throwing his weight around say βhe should know betterβ not only being disrespectful to paying customers but to his colleagues as well. Kitchen area at the back of the function room downstairs absolutely filthy, remnants of state food everywhere. Function room downstairs filthy, thick with dust and tables and bar hadnβt even been cleaned prior to the hire. Bar staff throwing rum down the drain instead of pouring it out correctly because they didnβt know the difference between a double measure and a wine glass measure. Place really run down in general but could be really nice.

Nice room, friendly and efficient staff, tea and coffee, micro and fridge in our large double room. Super king bed. Good room lock you put a code in so no key problems. Bath with shower. Breakfast good value and nice. Lift. Wheelchair ramp, good toilets on ground floor. Great function room. Negatives: shower not working, carpet not as clean as it should be

We had booked this hotel to have a place to crash after a family do, we had heard good things from people who had visited years ago, but a few whispering concerns about the people in the hotel. When we arrived it was clear that most of the budget was spent on the flooring and the purple led lights. None of the staff could find it in them to lead us to our room, and after forty minutes of going up and down searching for our room that wasnβt labelled, and winding up in a staircase filled with beer bottles and rubbish, we found our room only twenty more turns away from where we were told to go. Stressed and already late for getting ready, i go to use the bathroom, and the toilet is half ripped off the wall! caulked with the same amount of energy as the bulbs in the room, which didnβt work when we turned them on! Fed up with the service and the actual amenities in the room, i get in the shower, and while in there i hear the person above our room also get in, and see it too! the roof starts drooping with water and dripping onto me, and because i donβt really want to die in such a horrific hotel, i had to cut my shower short. Though thatβs not the best of it, even with the balcony door wide open, the fire alarm had began blaring in our room for two minutes before it had stopped. the vending machine was filled with stale snacks, and the breakfast was mediocre at best, with no one there to help. The sleep wasnβt good, the bed was stiff and i had tried to ask for another pillow, but there were none left and i was given a couch cushion instead. Overall, I wouldnβt come here again and any previous recommendations for this place should just be ignored, i didnβt feel safe.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in ...I have never heard of a bar closing last orders at 9pm because they close the till ... all hotels i have stayed in take it off your card that you register..the bar had very little choice not even tonic water for a gin!!! No brandy except 1 bottle in the bar next door.. at least faulty towers had a bar beyond this time and an owner that could make you laugh.. this place has no class no soul and no customers. The food was cold and tasteless... we stayed in the hotel 4 nights no cleaners until the day before we left so we had to go and buy towels and toilet roll... you cant buy lunch or an evening meal .. tho to be fair if breakfast was an indicator i wouldnt want it !!Β‘! the tv doesnt have mainstream tv .. the shower is out of the dark ages and worked off hot and cold taps with a drip ... decor very dated... I had to complain about the first room given to us as the laminate floor was lifting paint flaking off a painted sink... rusty taps bunk beds and double bed, next to a door that opened to a derelict hallway. My advice stay clear worst place I have ever stayed and will never stay again ... not the hillcrest I remember staying in years ago when it was a go to place... On a positive note the staff are lovely and look embarrassed about the situation they are in... very sad!

Wedding suite: My husband, and i got married. Lovely room. Very clean. Disappointment that for such a lovely hotel, there was no air conditioning in the hotel. We purchased a fan to bring back to the room. Very warm day and the window only opened approximately 2inched...with a security window lock in place. Bathroom: hand basin looked a little grubby. Black grout in the floor times made the floor look dirty. The shower over the bath; Very poor water pressure and flow. Staff: extremely friendly.

Food was OK, but nothing to write home about, apart from one of a party of 6 getting her food as the rest finished their main. (in fairness to the hotel they didn't charge). The service however was well below what is expected from any restaurant. Getting the attention of staff was difficult even though food was delivered they didn't return with cutlery for ages. I'd like to give it another go but not sure I will.

This hotel was full of young people, a lot of them was there coz no where else to go and homeless, placed there from council, we was in room next to family, we there fir wedding anniversary, would not recommend, breakfast was not great experience, no cutlery on table, no glasses for juices, water cold for tea, had to wait for a egg so the rest of breakfast cold, cheap but not ok for a night away, staff was lovely

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great party. Highly recommend the party night for your annual party if you're a company! We had a few food requirements which were easily catered for (vegan, halal and gluten free), however the runners from the kitchen didn't really know so making sure to grab a staff member who looks organised is important to get them to sort it asap. Otherwise every runner that comes out the kitchen asks if this is your meal. Other than that, absolutely mint night. Great mix of tunes so that everyone gets a dance.

Perfect location just off the m62. The main reception area is great and the main bar room superb. Lots of different products on draft and the seating area is good. Really welcoming staff and a perfect place to come for a short or long stay.

Everything was great about the hotel EXCEPT There was a huge wedding on and people were running up-and-down the corridor and shouting drunkenly until about 2:30 AM. There was also an outside covered area just below my room and people stayed there making a lot of noise till maybe 2 AM I got no sleep. I will speak to a staff member tonight and see if I can get a re fund our reduction in the cost of the hotel room
