   First time trying this place. My only criticism is that for £9 50, the large cod was more of a medium size piece of fish. Very tasty though, and the portion of chips was enough for four people, and vey nice. Owners are very friendly.

   Good God, this place is good. The guy that runs the place (the plaice?) is very friendly and polite. The fish is cooked fresh and, I kid you not, is just divine. The batter is crisp and buttery and the fish itself (Cod in this case) is moist yet firm. Chips are great but it's the fish that really makes this a winner. Cannot recommend this one enough...

   It must be a change of owner - such a let down after great food we had there before. Made to wait outside on the pavement for thirty minutes because they had no chips cooked.

   Gorgeous food! The fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Was very busy, but they have a great number system. I love the 2 queues outside - one to go in to order, the other to wait for your food. I'm so lucky to have The Chippy over the road from me!
