   Seen a few negative comments, but decided to go to our favourite Chinese, im glad we did... Excellent food and service, although we were the only ones in the Sleepy Panda, they were doing a few takeaways... Been using summer palace/sleepy panda for the last 29 years, when in chester, hopefully use them again soon...

   Obviously this chinese restaurant is not local taste but tailored for foreigners, very small portion, over priced and the dim sum was actually taste the same as frozen instant dim sum pack you bought from supermarket. Fried rice was sticky as it should be dry enough. And overall, salty. Speaking of taste, it’s below average compared with those in Manchester. Good atmosphere though, clean and neat.

   I wanted to stay in and have a lovely Chinese meal, from Sleepy Panda/ Summer Place, avoid them like the plague. We ordered Prawn dry toast, special fried no flavour rice, Special chow (dogs dinner) mein, rock hard chips. I actually want to post pictures of this contraption they called a meal. Stay way clear of this place, its really terrible to say the least.

   Their service is excellent and very polite. We ordered 1/4 crispy duck and Singapore stir fried vermicelli. Crispy duck was only deep fried duck which we misunderstood it was peking duck. It was served with cucumber and spring onion, with hoisin sauce dip. Singapore stir fried vermicelli was quite spicy. Overall, the food is not bad but not quite authentic Chinese food. No added service charge.

   Their service is excellent and very polite. We ordered 1/4 crispy duck and Singapore stir fried vermicelli. Crispy duck was only deep fried duck which we misunderstood it was peking duck.    I am so gutted that we had an awful take away meal from the new Sleepy Panda in Chester here last weekend (previously The Summer Palace). The prawn crackers, crispy duck pancakes and noodles were okay but the chicken satay was so bad it made me feel physically sick just looking at the sauce (See photos) It tasted like cold curry sauce and had a nasty jellied texture to it. I struggled to find and taste of peanut in the satay chicken dish. The sweet and sour chicken lacked the flavour in the chicken. My husband was disappointed with his egg fried rice - he said it was bland. The ribs for starter were a very small portion and with not a lot of meat! In my opinion they need to pay attention to food flavouring more and start making their own satay sauce or upgrade (possibly?) the bought in sauce...
