Very nice place to have lunch. My meal was ready in about 5-10 minutes and it was delicious. Nice atmosphere to have friends around. Will definitely come back.
Shockingly Bad After Two Years of Loyalty I’ve been coming to this shop for two years, and I honestly don’t know what on earth happened today. The staff seemed annoyed the moment we walked in. We came for the deal that’s clearly written 12 to 5 p.m., and we arrived at 4 p.m. Somehow, they claimed they “don’t do that deal,” even though it’s literally printed right there. Only after we pointed it out did they say they’d “do it special for us,” as if following their own sign was an act of generosity. Then I got home and opened the food… and it was absolutely disgusting. The “chicken” was so dry, so over-fried, and so bready that I genuinely had to double-check if there was any actual meat inside. It was also half the size of the bread, which made the whole thing look like a joke — just a bun babysitting a scrap of something pretending to be chicken. And honestly, if you gave this chicken to a dog, they’d probably file a complaint too. Even they wouldn’t eat something this brutally overcooked. After two years of being a loyal, regular customer, this was embarrassing on their part. If this is the new standard, then the shop is doing a fantastic job at pushing people away.
Incredible food as always I’ve never had a bad experience here. It’s such a welcoming atmosphere inside and I’ve never had to queue up to wait to sit down or had to wait for a long period of time for my food to be ready. Excellent price for the generous portions and really friendly staff.
Great kebab shop with consistently hot, fresh food and excellent value. The £10 medium mixed platter is generous—rice, salads, pickles, lamb and chicken doner, sauces, and bread. Better value than places like GDK. Fast service and a friendly owner. One of the best spots on the high street.
Terrible. Waiting time was far longer than advertised for delivery, waited over an hour and a half when it’s 2miles (10min drive) away... No idea what took so long when all that was ordered was falafel, hummus & a kebab wrap. When it arrived the food was cold. The “falafel” balls were inedible. Would be asking for a refund if I thought there was a chance of getting one.
I eat here every Saturday with my son after he has finished training. It’s one of his treats that he enjoys. We’ve actually been eating here for a good number of years, throughout the changes in ownership. But the ethos has always remained the same. There are some members that have been here even through the ownership changes, hence why it feels like it’s the same as when it opened. I am a local, and I would say I am regular. If I have an issue, they always look to put it right. That error only ever happened once. Great food and service is good too. Location is fantastic and to be honest, during lockdown they were an essential service. Thank you to the team at Charcoal

Ordered from deliveroo... Chicken wrap was good BUT humus was old and smelling! I can't understand how they put it in the bag without even reckon it that humus was old and rotten! Falafel was cold and ready bought from Tesco I guess.. If I pay 4.95£ for 4 piece falafel I'm expecting fresh made and home made falafel and not cheap rubbish deep frozen and 1 day ago deep fried and than sent to me !!! Got my money for falafel back .. thnx to deliveroo.. next time only chicken .. but no starters !
