A wonderful place for a pub meal and we'd definitely go back. Part of the Brunning and Price chain, Coeliac UK accredited so brilliant for a safe gluten-free meal, a good few options also dairy-free. The only slight drawback is the food does take a while at peak times so not one for a quick meal.

Popped in for a roast dinner great building and decor service ok not fantastic typical branded restaurant. My food order not taken correctly so had to eat what I was served, the roast chicken dinner consisted of two chicken legs as advertised with all the trimmings and proper gravy ?! Hardly great trimmings and certainly not proper gravy . So over priced for a roast dinner at a branded restaurant similar quality to a Vintage Inn . Unless you enjoy an overpriced branded box standard roast dinner this is the place for you for proper foodies so many better options elsewhere .

Great pub to go for a meal out. All the staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Well worth a visit.

We booked the Private Dining Room on Sunday to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. There were 18 of us in total. We had a great relaxing time, as we were not rushed in anyway. The food was to an excellent standard. delicious and served hot to everyone at the same time. The staff especially Ellie were very friendly, efficient and couldn't do enough to make everyone welcome and looked after. We had lots of compliments about the meals, the venue and the staff. The room was lovely with lovely views over the garden. We could not find a fault with anything and would encourage anyone looking for a venue for their event not to hesitate booking Rake Hall.

We had a lovely time at Rake Hall! We had a great seat in the window and we could bring the dog in, which was fab! The service was fantastic, everyone was so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious - a great experience, we will definitely be back!

The food and service is very good. However, only 4 stars as they did forget to bring the mustard that I asked for. It's clearly a very popular eatery and whilst it does have a relaxed atmosphere, the food service did feel a little rushed. Our mains (pictured), we're brought out before the starter plates had been cleared. The quality of the food and presentation was excellent with a wide range of nibbles, starters, mains and deserts. Drinks service while eating is very efficient and good bar service if not eating.

We came for a 90th birthday. I do not live near the area and had arranged the meal, the staff could not be any more accommodating and they allowed me to take the balloons and cake early which made things run a lot more smoothly for me. The atmosphere was lovely and warm, we had a three course Christmas menu and stayed for a while and was not rushed out. The service was great. The food itself was lovely, I had the seafood minestrone to start and it was spot on.

Shared a beautiful meal with a friend, very tasty. Service was excellent (a young lady heavily pregnant) she was very attentive & friendly making meal suggestions. I had the hake & my friend had the venison pie (a proper pie, cold water pastry) very tasty. My friend then had the mini pudding & coffee he said just enough to finish his meal off . We would certainly recommend Rake Hall.

Fantastic service, and the food was decent. I really liked the decor, and the place felt homely and welcoming. The food let it down a tad - I got the roast beef "with all the trimmings" which was just shy of £20. I expect good food for that price, and while it looked great on the plate, in reality things were a little different. The Yorkshire pud was so hard that even using a knife to cut it proved problematic, and bits flew everywhere. The meat was delicious if a little fatty. The roast potatoes were hard, and not deliciously crispy hard, but instead "I've been under a hot lamp' hard. The parsnip mash was good but what a paltry serving. The dessert of hot waffle with caramelised banana was excellent, as was the chicken liver pate starter. More work needed but will definitely be back at some point.

Locals told me how good Rake Hall is since it was refurbished and re-opened. Lovely place for a meal or just a good pint of beer. There's indoor and outside seating, as well as a good sized free carpark. It's close to Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port and M53 junction 10. It's a popular place and the food is good, so it's best to book online in advance.
