I visited Galata Pera in Brentford (near Kew Bridge) as a Malaysian traveler looking for a good meal — and it turned out to be an amazing surprise. I ordered the lamb rib BBQ, and it was simply outstanding. The grilling technique was world-class — beautifully charred on the outside, juicy and tender inside, with a perfect smoky aroma that shows true mastery of the grill. Every bite was full of flavour and care. This isn’t anything like Malaysian food — it’s completely different — but that’s what made it so good. The flavours were pure Mediterranean, bold yet balanced, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The restaurant had a warm, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. Everything from the service to the presentation showed pride and passion for good food. Galata Pera is a must-visit in the Brentford / Kew Bridge area for anyone who loves expertly grilled meat and great hospitality. A five-star experience — I’ll definitely come back again!

It was our first time in a Turkish restaurant and we will be back! Welcoming staff (to include the chef) and an easy going atmosphere. As for the food? Well let’s just say that we left there stuffed! Amazing presentation and amazing taste! The Turkish wine and beer were delicious too! Get out of your comfort zone, grab your significant other and friends, and let your mouth experience a disco of taste!! We will return!

Amazing food and great service! The mixed grill was delicious and portions were very generous. Lovely riverside setting and a really cozy atmosphere. Definitely coming back!

After reading the reviews we decided to try Galata Pera and what a disappointing experience it was. Cold mezze to share was quite generous but of poor quality from bought-in tubs, huge olives hard and tasteless. When the main courses were served one was missing! The chips were very dark (re-fried), without salt (no salt cruet on the table) and served with the cheapest thin ketchup. The corn of the cob looked nicely chargrilled but it was clear it had been boiled before taking away all its flavour. We had to chase the staff to correct the mistake and then wait long time for the food which ruined our experience. The chicken was overcooked and chewy, the lamb kofta dry and tasteless. Second fries were fresh but without any salt. The manager “checked” on us but didn’t apologise. To our insult, the bill had a “service” charge added. It’s not about the £8 but the principle and unprofessionalism of thinking such a charge was earned! Never again.

We didn't make any reservations but a big group of people (about 10) and thankfully restaurant is able to welcome us in and arrange a table for us at such very last minute. You can tell food are freshly made from the moment you step into the restaurant, you see the chacoal grill. Food are delicious (even the flat breads!) and they also have vegetarian options available for our party who don't share our fish/meat sharing platters.

A top-quality restaurant offering a delicious menu with excellent service. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. Once the meals were served we were left alone to enjoy the flavours. It is located next to the river which encourages a relaxed experience. Good vegetarian options as well.

Lovely little restaurant right on the canal. Service was fantastic and the food was very tasty! Parking is super convenient and located right below the restaurant! To pay for the parking, recommend you do so online. See the QR code in one of the photos. The spicy tomato sauce you normally get from Turkish restaurants was strangely sweet here, I'd hazard a guess it has a bit of ketchup in it?! The sharing platter was plenty enough to feed 2 hungry children and 2 adults. Overall, great value and recommend if you are looking for a place to eat after visiting Kew Gardens!

We popped in on the spur of the moment on our way into London, after having a stroll around Brentford Docks. We were the first people in at 5pm and were shown to a table by the window overlooking the docks. We decided on a mixed grill sharer and it wasn't long before our platter was served. The meat was absolutely delicious and tender and clearly of good quality and plentiful. I didn't take the waiters name but he was attentive and friendly and was the icing on the cake of what was a very enjoyable and satisfying visit. Visited Monday 14th March 2022.

A very attractive Turkish restaurant with an art deco exterior featuring an eclectic interior. It is located in an upmarket area of luxury apartments adjacent to a locked in tributary of the river Brent a tributary of the Thames with residential barges. The service was very slow but this could have been on account of Covid. The waitress wasn’t very conversant in English. The food was comprehensive but a little tough, nevertheless it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Be prepared to pay a premium for this environment
