Good food overall and nice kabab and dolma. Quality of used ingredients is great. Downside is the place is over priced specially quantities are not matching the high prices. The fish is suer expensive. Also service is very slow and the team customer delight is on the very low side.

This Iraqi restaurant is a true gem. The food is superb—rich in flavor, beautifully presented. From traditional dishes to unique house specialties, every bite is memorable. What truly sets this place apart is the warm hospitality. The owner, serves guests himself with genuine care and pride, creating a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. The service is top-notch, and the entire experience reflects the generosity and heart of Iraqi culture. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic cuisine with unmatched service.

We visited Al Maskoof in London with high hopes for an authentic Iraqi dining experience. While the food had some delightful moments, the overall experience was mixed. Upon arrival, the staff at the entrance were not welcoming — no greeting or friendliness, which left a cold first impression. We initially wanted to order their signature masgouf fish, but were told it would take over an hour to prepare, and nothing else was readily available in the meantime. This was disappointing, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty. On the positive side, several dishes truly stood out. The chicken biryani was flavorful and well-cooked, the okra was rich and satisfying, and the Iraqi bread was fresh and authentic. For dessert, we had saffron mohalabia, which was smooth, fragrant, and delicious. The Iraqi tea was also excellent — a perfect way to end the meal. The final bill came to £107, which felt quite expensive for two people, especially given the lackluster service and empty dining area. Facility note: The restaurant has a restroom downstairs equipped with a water spray (shattaf) — a considerate touch for Middle Eastern and Muslim guests. In summary: The food was enjoyable, particularly the biryani, okra, bread, and dessert. However, the service and readiness need improvement. The restaurant has potential, but the experience should better match the prices.

I dont know what yo say about thus place.. Used to be one if my favourites.. but know, standard has definitely changed.. To start with, crazy prices.. definitely overpriced.. Portions are small.. at lease they should be more generous.. the same way they are with pricing.. Food presentation is poor.. used to be better.. Place is small.. humble venue.. I know loads of celebrities visited before.. and I my self used to like it.. but I don’t think they managed to keep their standards.. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t say recommend..

A few years ago, my family and I started regularly visititinf Almaskouf whenever we are in London. The standard is always excellent. Every single time, we order the speciality, which is the large fish in advance. It is grilled on wood from an orange tree with a pomegranate glaze on top. The other numerous other dishes are also tasty. The service is excellent and everyone there is extremely kind and respectful. It is priced extremely reasonably. Thank you!

Food is exceptionally amazing and authentic! This place is keeping it up and strong even though it is a very old place. But it never stops impressing guests especially very picky travelers who desire only the most authentic. On top of that, great staff and lovely hospitality.
