The Royal Oak is the local pub in Higher Kinnerton and it has a warm, cosy feel. I only experienced the restaurant side where on both visits the staff were very friendly and professional. The only reason I've put 4 stars instead of 5 is because of cleanlines, there was chewing gum stuck to the wall but other than that everything else was great. You really get a good amount of food and the menu has a good selection. I'll definitely be recommending this pub.

Went for Sunday lunch with the family. Service was lovely, staff were friendly & pub was very inviting. We ordered several roast dinners with a side of pigs in blankets and also the Steak and Ale pie. Food was really good, however the mash had a strong vintage cheddar taste which was a surprise to us all as it wasn’t described this way in the menu (a bit too strong for us). Also the roast potatoes were tough and dry however the gravy did help soften them up a bit. Everything else on the plate was delicious - especially the creamed leeks !(: The cuts of meat were cooked very well - beef was pink in the middle, pork was well cooked and the chicken was juicy. The portion sizes were spot on, we all left feeling very full with unfortunately no room for dessert, however, we will definitely be back to try something different as there was a good variety of menu items to choose from.

We (4 of us) had just travelled from Essex to our camp site at Crab mill farm. We didn’t fancy cooking so I booked this blind. We are so glad I did. The service is friendly but not overbearing. The atmosphere is of an old English pub with modern touches. I had a Landlord Ale and enjoyed it so much my friend ordered a pint and he wasn’t disappointed. Lovely fresh tasting Ale. I ordered the home made steak an ale pie as did my wife. We both thought it was probably the best we had ever had. Plenty of meat just right pastry & a jug of gravy that was just enough. My friends had belly pork and a burger which was equally well enjoyed. For desert I had sticky toffee pudding with custard (which wasn’t too sweet) & a scoop of ice cream. Oh my this in my wife’s friends & I’s opinion was again the best we had tasted. Light fluffy with just the right amount of syrup. Bloody yum. The wife had a doughnut with ice cream and a chocolate Baileys sauce, I think the doughnut was home made light and fluffy, the Baileys ice cream was delicious. We would all whole heartedly recommend this pub the food is just brilliant. We had a wonderful time talking and eating great food. Before we knew it we had spent 2 hours. We never felt hurried

Really enjoyed our Christmas lunch at The Royal Oak today. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive to our needs plus special fusses for our son and daughter in law to bes dogs and turkey treats from the kitchen for them too. We humans were treated to the most delicious food, we all savoured our starters, mains and desserts. Nothing was too much trouble. Our compliments to the chef and all the staff who worked really hard today so we could enjoy a fabulous, relaxing Christmas day.

Went on a Saturday evening. Had to wait long time for meal.Appeared understaffed. Could not fault the lovely hard working waiter and waitress. Food very disappointing....one of my daughters said hers tasted like a school dinner. My meal was very dry....left half The burgers too were disappointing and dry. Had good expectations but as i said food very disappointing and underwhelming.

Went here to meet up with a friend. The overall look of the oak is lovely. We dined in the back it was very spacious and the decor was lovely. Outside they have little private booths with heaters. While we were there rock and roll bingo started, you can hear it in the restaurant but it was fun guessing all the songs. They also do a quiz night which I’m coming back to give it a try

One of my favourite places around. Staff always nice and try to accommodate your requirements. Fireplace usually on in winter times. I've never tasted a bad dish and the service is quick

Absolutely hands down this one of the best pub restaurants I have been too, trust me when I say I have been to many. I'm just so gutted I was only passing, because I'd love to come back here. I literally couldn't find fault with my beef roast dinner. 10/10 which I can't ever say I've given. The beef was perfectly cooked and soft to eat zero fat or gristle, a propa decent cut of meat. The potatoes were perfect. Honestly a perfect roast dinner... The others in the party also raves about their food choices. The ambiance was nice with 70's softly playing as we sat outside in the heated pod, the inside was a really nice setting. The whole pub was immaculately clean. Staff were so friendly and polite. Massive car park. Once again I could not find a fault at this pub I'm gutted it's not my regular. If you are driving around this area or passing here you must stop to eat, you will not be disappointed.
