Ochai is one of my favourite restaurants in London. The dining area is small but personable. Youll almost always be able to find a table without much of a fuss. You can be sure to recieve spicy food if you request it. Menu has all the standard thai items. I always get the Laab. The food comes quickly and it always tastes fresh. Walthamstow may seem like a distant place for most but this restaurant is worth the trip.

I order from here regularly and have for the last four years Iβve lived in (Walthamstow) for seven years and absolutely love this place 95% of the time itβs 10 out of 10 the odd time itβs not thatβs a rarity. Family run and been there since the 80s I think. Supporting Business, this is the one to support.

Went in for an impromptu dinner, 6 of us. I was a bit disappointed after reading reviews. Tables were all empty, so just us, but they are extremely busy with takeaway orders, which seem to get more attention than those seated within the premises. Small piece of chicken satay was still raw. Which we ordered for starters. I like to give small businesses business so to speak but I really don't think I will be going back.

Didnβt deliver at specified time but too early. Unfortunately the food wasnβt great. Poor cuts of meat. The sauces didnβt taste authentic very oily and unfortunately we ended up throwing away Β£50 worth of mains as it was inedible. And both of us felt sick after too so might have gotten a mild case of food poisoning. We tried to call the restaurant but they were already closed so no way of rectifying the order!

Very disappointed. The reviews here are misleading. Orders not delivered, marked at delivered, then we argued and they sent food but it was incredibly bland, with very very cheap cuts of meat. The yum neua is supposed to be sirloin meat. This was horrible and chewy leathery rubbish! Actually abandoned the whole meal with how bad it was.

Really good Thai food, recommend the fish cakes, pork dumplings, red curry and Tom Yum, although everything I've tried has been great.

I ordered takeaway at 17:56 via Just Eat and the estimate delivery was 18:25-18:45. I received a text at 18:56 mess saying my order is on its way. 19:25 I called the restaurant and the lady said the driver is on the way and it should come very soon. 19:47 I called again and the lady said it should come in 5 mins. I was on the call for 5 mins and nothing came. I think itβs not ok to charge for hot food after such long wait and I asked for a refund. Absolutely disappointed. It could be an issue with Just Eat but going forward, as I said on the first call, please do not make an assumption and speak to the driver or do something else. If you cannot track the order/cannot contact the delivery person, I would rather knowing that you donβt know how long it takes. Managing expectation is important.

Great choice for takeaway, but we decided to have a sit in meal in this small and cosy establishment. Wonderfully fun ladies cooking and serving us. And the food was delicious and authentic. My friend's beef Pad Thai was a little chewy, but my beef Masamam was excellent and succulent. They just need to bump up the 3 star hygiene rating to draw in more punters.
