Overall 4*s for this place. Price is quite high for large cod (£8.40 without chips) so if you're looking to get fish and chips for two it's going to cost you around £20. Then add on mushy peas, curry sauce it racks up and you end up spending near on £30 for a chippy tea. Prices have gone up everywhere but £8.40 does seem a little steep. Atmosphere inside is a bit dull but you're not really often sitting there for long. There's tables to eat your food at or just sit and wait. Food itself is good. Good quality fish with plenty of "meat" and not just all batter. Staff are friendly too. They're often busy with collection orders for the app orders but the wait time isn't too long normally. Might recommend to call ahead if you're in a rush. I will be back again soon!

Ordered chips/ haddock and calamari 1st bite of the fish, it had cling film under the skin The oil used for the fish + calamari was very old/burnt/bitter tasting, completely inedible (chips were ok) . never again

Got served by the not usual staff (he was probably the owner) and what an awful experience was that!! First got bumped by the price as their menu inside the shop says one thing but their leaflet says another. His reason was that they haven’t had a chance to update their menu list!! And then when wrapping my chips, he spoke over it for 2 minutes with a delivery driver keeping it open getting it cold and adding an extra saliva from them both for an extra taste. Doubt I’ll come back ever again. It’s a shame because their food was actually nice.

By far the best fish and chips I've ever eaten. The batter is crispy and not greasy, the fish is fresh and flaky, and the chips are fluffy and not at all soggy. As you can see from the picture, the portion is also enormous. Mushy peas were decent too. Will definitely be trying again.

This little chippy was a great find; waited about 15-20mins for our fish and chips, but it was worth it! Fish cooked well; not dry and bland. Batter was just right; not thick and soggy. Paired with large portion of chips. All packaged well in recyclable packaging. Wish we took more photos of the food but we was starving. Anyway, highly recommend this place; a must when in Eltham.

We've been visiting 2 Happy Chefs for about 6 months now, switching from another local fish shop in the area. Every order is cooked fresh, and is delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly, always taking time to say hello and greeting you with a smile-not to mention offering recipe ideas for vegan tartar sauce. Another big draw for us is that they do a vegan cod option which is 1, delicious (again) and 2, a rarity in the area which means we can all enjoy a fish and chip dinner! I'm working my way through the menu on different visits and nothing has been short of tasty! Great chips, great food and great people!
