It's a pretty normal Matalan. The range isn't the best and the prices are average but no real negatives either.
Good collection of baby and adults clothes.
Staff are not good , specially the black man security guard is very rude towards customers, once saw him shouting aggressively to a man and said F word . That man was polite but after that security act aggressive. That man replay back to him. The security man have already CCTV cam on his chest and recorded everything. But even though pull of his phone to record that person from his phone . That not acceptable at all . This security start all of that and act aggressive. Then that man left the shop . But that security look after another women and said that your husband and prevent her to buy anything from store also order the cashier to not selling anything to her . I saw her she have money . And she try to tell that man .she do not know that person. But the security guard. Insist and force her to leave. That was disgusting and rude from that security to act like that. I was nex to him from the beginning until the end . This customers should rise complain. But they was kind and polite people if that security not act like that way. This happen 2.9.2025 in Oldham matlan, I believe after 6 pm. I wish if take pictures or video for that . But I do not like the way that security act . I wish to remove him or find another person instead of that rude person.
Click and collect service is a joke. Went to collect my order, waited for ages as they couldn't find it. They said they will search thoroughly so will take a while. I told them I will visit again in a day or 2. Upon visiting second time I was told the parcel isn't at store and is probably lost so contact the customer services for refund. I contacted the customer services and they said that it shows that I have collected my parcel already so refused to give me a refund unless they find evidence on store's cctv. They rang me back and told me that store staff gave my parcel to the wrong person with the same surname and it hasnt been returned. Maybe take your job a bit more seriously and check the customer ID or ask a security question like the first line of the address like other retailers do to ensure you're handing the parcel to the right person. A mistake that could've easily been avoided had the staff been bit more more vigilant and professional in doing their job.
Ok for cheap clothes. You don't get a discount for having to check yourself out. The 1 lady on the tille was quite abrupt
Disappointed yesterday, can't find any decent coloured trousers like chinos in burgundy etc..nor any size jeans over a 40. The colours just seem so drab for summer season new lines
For me, they now have a poor selection of clothing for men.
Click & Collect service is non existent, had to wait in queue for over 15 mins as only 2 staff on till. Asked the other member of staff who was covering the self check-out if there was anyone was covering the click & collect. She just said give me a moment and then choose to ignore what I asked. A customer informed me that the no one has covered the clink and collect counter for month's. I get there's a staff shortage, but the member of staff covering the self check out could have helped out!
Janet Best member of staff their, dead helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and fast, over all the whole set up of the shop, the regular sales are excellent just needs more sale stuff to buy as it goes too fast! I left an item on a till today paid for went back and had no trouble in getting the item I paid for back... Thank you Janet excellent customer service from a very happy customer
