We placed a large family dinner order with Wah Bey, one of our favourite local spots for authentic Pakistani food. As always, the food was exceptional, flavourful, authentic, and neatly packed. The order arrived in good time, though unfortunately one Karahi Gosht was missing. When we called the restaurant, the manager was confident the full order had been sent and even shared a photo of the completed delivery. Despite this, the item was not received. To his credit, he agreed to replace the missing dish and added a dessert as compensation. As they had no drivers available, he kindly arranged for a friend to deliver it, which we truly appreciated given it was a family meal. However, it did take some effort to resolve, and when the replacement arrived, the driver asked for a Google review beforehand, which felt unnecessary, generosity shouldn’t feel transactional. I did say I would write the review after our meal, and am doing so now. Overall, aside from the missing dish, the food quality remains excellent, and Wah Bey continues to be a go-to for delicious Pakistani cuisine.

Excellent service today at Wah Bey Restaurant in Gants Hill from the short hijab-wearing staff member, who was incredibly sweet, attentive, and determined to help. Even though the Chapli Kebab was out of stock, she went out of her way to suggest alternatives and made sure I found the perfect dish. Her warm attitude and genuine effort really stood out and made the whole dining experience enjoyable. Thank you to the lovely hijabi today. I loved the food, atmosphere and experience!!!! Also I believe the manager the male with the blue shirt was exceptional I love you all.

Fantastic South East Asian dining experience in Gants Hill! Wah Bay is a real hidden gem in the heart of Gants Hill. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a beautifully designed interior — stylish, modern, and thoughtfully put together. It’s the perfect mix of comfort and class, making it just as suitable for a casual meal as it is for a special evening out. The menu offers a great variety of South East Asian dishes, and everything we tried was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the balance of spices — authentic yet approachable for all palates. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The team clearly takes pride in what they do, and it shows in both the food and the overall experience. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get. Portions are generous, and the presentation is excellent — great value for money overall. If you’re looking for a restaurant in Gants Hill that offers delicious South East Asian cuisine in a lovely setting, Wah Bay is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

We booked a private dining area on the lower ground floor for an intimate graduation celebration and the service and food was outstanding! We ordered a few tawa grills which was absolutely delicious 10/10 and some biriyanis. The grills were cooked to perfection, tender and flavourful and the lamb chops was the best. With all honesty, the food was the best Pakistani food we’ve had at a restaurant. The private dining area is beautiful itself and perfect for private functions. All the staff including manager Sarwar and the waitresses provided the best service. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Interesting experience. Went to Wah Bey for a friends birthday dinner. Have to say the service they provided showed they cared. Recommendations on food and quantity. The decor is nice and space is good. However it’s all about the food. Ordered the two sharing platters which had most of the grilled meats and one curry. The grills were all like warm / cold and mostly over cooked. The wings weren’t but you can’t get those wrong. Taste was average or no taste at all. The lamb curry ordered with the grill was hot so that was nice but again the taste was average. As for the buttered chicken, wow, how can you get it so wrong. Sweet and cold! With drinks, £3 for a can of Diet Coke, the price is above what I would expect to pay. Bathroom lights don’t work properly. No soap in one of the toilets and no light. Without the great service this would be a one star. They have something to work with however unless the food improves it won’t last long.

Appalling experience - starting from the strangest main entrance door which isn’t automatic to the indoor decor which looked like a bar/nightclub. The restaurant was almost empty, as soon as we entered we were greeted and seated promptly. The food arrived fairly quickly. It lacked presentation and taste, grill meats were full of raw papaya taste and lacked flavour. Restaurant claims exquisite dining experience, nothing exquisite was on display. Dishes arrived without serving tongs and many other things missing. Four different waiters helped us get the items we needed, i.e drinks, spoons and serviettes. We left half the food uneaten, paid the bill and left. Like many other reviewers have mentioned, this place has got a lot of things wrong and need a lot of improvement. Wont be coming back anytime soon.

A very elegantly decorated restaurant. Their food was a 7/10. The speed of their service is extremely impressive. I ordered a lot of food with them online, and they prepared everything in around 10 minutes. They did make a small mistake in my order though but they did give me a complementary dish upon request. Also, the poppadoms I received, were completely broken.
