I was just walking past and noticed Black Lotus Thai – this was my very first time trying Thai cuisine. I ordered only one starter (Black Lotus Hors D’oeuvre) as I was craving a snack, and I absolutely loved it! The mix of flavours was amazing and everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. Even though I’m new to Thai food, this starter really impressed me and now I’m excited to try more, especially Pad Thai since it’s listed as their #1 most liked dish. Looking forward to coming back soon to explore more of their menu.

I recently visited this restaurant and tried several dishes — Kiew Wahn, Pad Thai, spicy chicken wings, and Kanom Jeep dumplings — and every one of them was fantastic. The flavors were bold and authentic, especially the Kiew Wahn, which had just the right balance of sweetness and spice. The Pad Thai was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the dumplings were tender with a flavorful filling. Overall, I’d rate the food an 8/10 — definitely a place I’d come back to just for the dishes alone. That said, the service could use some improvement. Staff seemed a bit unorganized and slow to check in, which slightly took away from the overall experience. Still, the quality of the food makes it worth visiting — just hope they tighten up the service to match the excellent kitchen.

Superlative Ambience atmosphere qnd Genuine Aromatic Thai Food. Everything is 100% tasty and Halal. Service is excellent and Noodles are just right. Prawn need careful cooking not to get chewy and chef was careful. And succulent beef was wow. Amazing. Full Marks.

Had dinner at Black Lotus – honestly 5 stars across the board. The food was full of flavour – we had the mixed platter, spicy prawn rice, red chicken curry, and egg fried rice, and every dish hit the mark. Staff were lovely, really attentive without being over the top. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing meal. Everything is halal and there is a prayer room at the back which was a really thoughtful touch. Will definitely be back again, insha’Allah – highly recommended!

This is a very decent Halal Thai restaurant. The service is good and the staff are friendly. We went for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy. We were greeted with a smile and directed to our table. We ordered the Hors D'oeuvre and the Kenom Jeeb (Dumplings) for our starters. The spring rolls and fish cake were amazing! The satay and the chicken were 4 outta 5. For our mains we got the Sia Rong Hai Tiger Cry & the Prawn Green Curry with coconut rice. Both were pretty good! Overall, a very decent place, the seating is a bit cosy with your neighbours.. definitely worth going again!

Don't go to many places on their opening week due to my thinking it will be too busy and I hate waiting for a table. However Ive seen this place get refurbished for a few weeks and the inside deco just was eye catching, so thought I had to visit this place. Went on the 3rd day of opening and was full house but luckily we got a table straight away. Due to the business there was a wait to get the order In and for the food to come out but I must admit it was worth it. Firstly the deco of this place is one of the best I've seen, so unique and elegant, was told by the owner the wall deco was painted all by hand. Food wise now managed to try a large variety of the menu as there were 7 of us eating so tried a bit from everyone and overall would give it 4 out of 5 stars, high quality ingredients were used, flavourful however felt the presentation could have been more wow factor to match then deco, hence the 4 stars but overall for everything definitely 5 stars. Management was amazing also as they weren't serving a dessert menu during opening week but the owner went back and made us an exclusive dessert just for us as we were the last table. For Thai food in East London I would say this is the place to go.

Black Lotus acheived to wow me and the mrs on every aspect it possibly could. To start with the mojito and dacquiri were possibly the best drinks we have ordered from a restaurant and so reasonably priced. For the starters the shrimps were perfect but the skewers were what suprised me the most as every time i get chicken skewers from anywhere else they tend to be dry and chewy or undercooked but this was neither ...really soft and moist. For the mains we ordered thai green curry and jungle curry .. both were on point! The green curry was really flavoursome and right amount of thickness to the point that i felt like i was back in thailand!! The jungle curry made the tastebuds dance as it should! We ordered the sticky rice and fragrant rice with this.... I ordered another rice after which was given to me straight away to ensure my curries didnt get cold. I really enjoyed the whole experience, perfect for a date night where you can sit in and just enjoy the ambience.....

Fantastic new Thai restaurant in Gants Hill, Essex. Food was absolutely brilliant with loads of different flavours. Great service and hospitality. Decor and interior done to an exceptional level. We have finally found our local Thai restaurant. Highly recommend.

I was invited to a pre-opening taster session at this restaurant. The decor is done to a very high spec. A lot of attention to detail. The food was superb, probably because all the chefs are from Thailand. All the dishes I tried were authentic. As a well travelled individual I can say that the dishes tasted very much like Thailand. A much needed Thai Restaurant that lives up to its expectations. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes. The staff are friendly and experienced. I have no doubt that this place will do well.
