Food was amazing. Went for my girlfriends birthday, Essence went out of there way to make it special cake, decorations, sparklers Really great service definitely recommend. Thanks essence team.
Lovely decor, friendly staff. However, poor quality food, lengthy waiting time, even though I was the only customer. The music was utterly tasteless. No napkins nor cutlery! Will definitely not be going there again!!
It is with great sadness that I have given this place one star, and had it been possible I would have given zero stars. The service was next to none existent and we waited for over 15 minutes for service at our table, despite the restaurant/cafe being empty (apart) from a small group of teens being in the establishment socialising. It came to the point where I and the rest of our party walked out and went elsewhere. Very dissapointed as this used to be a really good little eatery. The management need to get a grip of the service and customer facing staff if they wish to make it a success that it has the capability to be.
My friend suggested to try them and I'm glad he did. The food was really really good. I've ordered ox tails and curry goat mid, both were fantastic. And the portions is enough for 2 people each.
The food is lovely but the service is a big let down. It's slow and I've ordered a few times and they have continuously got my orders wrong. The staff come across unprofessional too. It's a shame because the owner is real cool but the staff are a massive let down to the business. Even though I love the food I can't deal with the awkwardness of the staff so haven't gone back
Wonderful food, truly a taste of Jamaica. I purchase food there regularly and in particular, I love the Stew Peas, Oxtail and Fried Chicken. I can tell that the food is well seasoned and freshly cooked. Try some of the fresh juices too. You'll love it! In fact I travel round distance 20 miles to buy food there!
