Food arrived cold after app said was ready for delivery 50 min before it turned up! Over hour late and wasn’t edible- just mush! Was obvious it had sat in a bag somewhere for an hour! Used to use them regularly a couple of years ago but will definitely avoid from now on I hate to leave a bad review but wasted hard earned money!
Awful awful awful. Butter chicken is so disgusting, the curry from korma I presume and added to sweet chicken tikka. Sag paneer awful! Even raita disgusting. Everything ended up in the toilet. You should be ashamed of yourself. We ordered as they left a leaflet and thought to support local businesses. DO NOT PRDER FROM HERE!
Bloody awful !!! Portions have shrunk due to new owners. This was my local Indian for few yrs, food used to be really good but now its gone downhill. Wont be ordering from them again. I paid cash on delivery and had to call driver back to give me the money back for a missing item..
I really want to know if house of spice now has a new owner or new chef? I am devastated! Honestly this had been our best Indian for years.. We have been ordering for 9/10 years but our last two orders have been horrendous. The food was horrible and nothing like before. My best friend has always ordered from here and she also said the same? I’m scared to order now because I don’t want to waste my money. Can you confirm what has changed?
We ordered our new years eve traditional curry take away,well to say it poor is a a compliment,turned up swimming in watery sauce (tika jalfrezi),rang to complain and got barrage of abuse calling me lier and I'm trying it on to get free food ,told them I'm not eating it so they can come and get it ,with a full refund 45 minutes later driver turned up trying to take bag of food back with out giving me our cash back ,please give this place a wide birth

Placed our first order tonight. Arrived well ahead of the time given, well packaged and each dish clearly labelled. Very good food and the Kheema naan was especially good - light, fluffy and a good balance of filling. Will definitely order again
Took over 2 hours to deliver my food last night, an hour longer than they quoted. No apology, no offer of a refund. And then we found they had missed one of the 2 main dishes we ordered. Complained to hungry house who gave me compensation, HungryHouse then explained that House of Spice refused any refund and just said 'we were busy'. They are probably the rudest people I've ever dealt with. The food was actually quite nice, lots of oil though. Will never use them again. Disgusted
Tried this place out for a Saturday night in, was pleasantly surprised by the tikka starter. It was hot and tasty and contained a lot of flavour. The delivery man was very polite and pleasant and overall I really enjoyed my main dish which was a chettinad curry. The food was packed very carefully and was delivered to my house efficiently. Overall I would re order for this takeaway.
