   We spent £22 on two doner rice boxes, and unfortunately, they were not worth the money at all. The portion size was extremely small, more like a children’s meal. The boxes were not properly filled — there were only about 5–6 thin layers of chicken and a very small amount of rice, which felt unfair for the price. The food quality was also very disappointing. Both the rice and the meat were cold; the rice was hard, and the meat was dry and difficult to eat. The salad did not seem fresh, which was very concerning. The service added to our disappointment. The staff at the counter did not seem attentive, and the hygiene and presentation were below standard. This was especially upsetting because this place used to be clean, welcoming, and known for fresh, good-quality food. Sadly, the quality appears to have declined rather than improved. I would like the store manager to please review how staff are serving customers, including portion sizes, food temperature, hygiene, and packing standards. I have been a loyal customer for years and kept hoping the standards would return to what they once were. However, after today’s experience, I don’t think I will be returning. With so many halal food options available, it’s difficult to justify paying high prices for such poor quality and service.

   I ordered 2 meals on fri 21/11/25. It was not busy so my order should have been good & not rushed. However, the box meal of chips & chicken was 95% chips & 5% chicken! I mean seriously?? Did I just pay for this meal?? If that’s what you call it! It was more like a box of chips & look for the very tiny chicken. Not impressed, the lady who served us was busy chatting & putting stickers on boxes & really didn’t care much tbh. Oh & my son & I were the the only people in the queue!

   I am very disappointed with the food and service we received during our visit today. My wife and I ordered two Doner rice bowls, but unfortunately, the food was not up to standard. The rice and meat were both cold — the rice was hard, and the meat was dry and difficult to eat. The salad was also not fresh, which was very concerning. What added to the disappointment was the service. The staff at the counter did not seem attentive, and overall hygiene and presentation were below expectations. This was surprising and disheartening because I remember when this place used to be clean, welcoming, and served delicious, fresh food. Sadly, it seems the quality has declined over time instead of improving. I have been a loyal customer for years, always hoping the standards would return to what they once were, but after today’s experience, I don’t think I will be coming back. With so many other halal food options available, it’s hard to justify paying high prices for food and service of such low quality. I truly wish I could give half a star for this experience, as even one star feels generous.

   Before writing this review I had spoken to the manager on a phone call the day of incident… I placed an order online last week, when my food arrived the bread was burnt and the food just had an ash taste given how burnt the bread was, the fries was spicy fries not the cheesy fries I had ordered, I spoke to the manager the same day after receiving my order and throwing the majority in the bin because it was inedible. He advised that I could get a replacement meal if I ordered again next time online and to call prior to doing so. I called yesterday a number of times and I have called today a number of times and no one is now answering the phone at all! He fobbed me off with lies, even stated the bread batch he got was faulty and had been replaced but yet surely the person serving could see the bread was burnt and still sent it off to me for delivery and what I’m most furious about is the fact the manager did not keep to his word, I was questioning this “call before you order next time and we will send a replacement out” bs on the phone the day of the order and I was right too because nobody is ever going to answer the phone now. That’s why he was so confident in offering that to me on the phone. I’m fuming at the lack of care and lack of service and to top it all off the straight up blatant LIE about sorting it out! Iv never been this angry at a food establishment ever! More so about being played off with a bs excuse and lie about “call next time” I knew I should haven’t accepted that bs but I gave them the benefit and I should never have! Avoid this place at all cost if manager can’t be a decent human being you have to wonder what else goes on behind the scenes.

   Raw chicken inside all meat meals. Plain fries instead of cheese fries. An order for over £20 went to the bin. I remember that a few years ago the food was amazing despite the small portions. This should be audited and closed by the FSA

   The food is good but the portions are just too small for the price. However sometimes after that night out you need some of that junk in your system then this is your spot. The food taste good and the staff were helpful. Can’t complain

   I recently visited German Doner Kebab Intu Lakeside and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming in special Milon was an amazing person and went above and beyond to make sure my meal was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. The restaurant itself was clean and had a great atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal or a quick bite. I highly recommend German Doner Kebab to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience - you won't be disappointed

   Food was okay but the portion size is really small. I had the Coco kebab, and my wife had the original German Doner Kebab. We both ordered extra meat, but mine had hardly any meat it it, and it was noticeably smaller than my wife's kebab, which was hardly large anyway. GDK started off really well when we first started seeing them in the last few years and the portions were fair, but it has gone downhill in terms of quality and clearly portion size. I won't be returning. It can only be be 1 star because of how small the portion was.

   Great meat but the amount is a joke. I ordered many times and portions used to be good, now they got smaller. So I ordered with extra meat this time but guess what, I paid £2.50 for extra air instead of meat I think. DO NOT ORDER!

   Atrocious service. Barely any chips in an expensive Boss Box. Hardly any sauce. I asked for well done and they couldn't be bothered. Update: GDK Headquarters responded with an apology. It's the same useless apology they've given ALL the other reviewers, exactly the same. Many people have complained of the same thing and evidently GDK's feedback to the franchise has had ZERO effect on its behaviour and service. Guys, this is an expensive sandwich presented to you by unreliable rude staff who don't care about the quality of service. That's why they have sub 4 rating.
