It was an amazing experience. Highly recommended if you want to experience Indian hospitality. The food was amazing, especially Kebab Anwari is a must-try; it just melts in your mouth. The biryani and dessert were great too, and again, the lamb in the biryani was mouth-watering. Special thanks to Shelim for making our experience special. His warm behavior and amazing hospitality skills made us feel at home. Because of the food and amazing hospitality, I would definitely come here more often.

We chose The India on a whim on a Friday night. Not only did they seat us without having a reservation, but they provided us with wonderful service. Salim took excellent care of us, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Paneer dishes.

Six stars for the service! The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect, but it was the service that really elevated my experience here. It's my first time coming here, I ate alone but I didn't feel lonely at all. I was welcomed and treated very well by the staff. I really had a good time! Special thanks to Salim for the friendliness as well as taking his job seriously. And to Salman who recommended a good dish and made sure I felt warm. Well done!

I saved this restaurant for my last meal before leaving London on business. During my week long stay I ate at a lot of high end restaurants and enjoyed many cultural aspects of London’s food. With that, the restaurant was hands down my favorite. The restaurant is a quaint and beautifully decorated dining establishment. I read other reviews that their service was top notch and I wasn’t disappointed. My server “Batman” was truly amazing and made some wonderful recommends on dishes and an amazing wine pairing. The food was absolutely amazing with fresh ingredients, tender meats, and the flavors unmatched with any Indian food I’ve had in the past. The owner personally came to my table and greeted me. The icing on the cake was the pricing for the meal for the amount of food they serve. It was by far my cheapest meal while in London and was by far the best. I encourage anyone looking for an Indian fine dining experience to visit this restaurant . You won’t be disappointed! Todd

Very nice little indian restaurant in a cellar room. Food was very delicious. Our waiter Salman was very kind and friendly - he and his colleagues gave us pretty nice advice and theory about indian food and spicyness. Definitely worth a visit. Didnt like the music, but thats super-subjective

Had an amazing experience dining in with colleagues. I ordered chicken tikka biryani while they ordered veg biryani and daal tarka. The taste was decent as well as the quantity. 5/5 for service. This is the first time I was served "warmed" wet tissue afterwards. Overall, it was a good experience.

I went in with zero expectations and left with immense joy! One of the best Indian foods I have tasted. The tandoori platter was out of this world, every bite was full of flavour and the biriyani was the star of the show. Every morsel of rice was packed with a punch of flavour and it hit every right note you’d expect. It has been couple of days since I visited but the taste still lingers in my mouth.

It is our last night in London and we wanted something special, a short bus trip from our hotel and we were greeted by the lovely front of house lady, she took us down to our table. Once we got down the stairs we were hit by the most amazing aromas. Pompadoms for the table with nice chutneys and pickles i recommend the mixed starter for two and our mains where butter chicken with garlic nan and the mixed biriyani we only have one pic because the food and service was so good i completely forgot to take pics. Amazing treat will come again when we are in London Thanks for the great evening

There’s one flight of stairs that takes you down into the bunkers which have been converted into cosy dining alcoves. We went for the set menu, and it was well worth the price. The appetizers are meat-based, and makes sense as they are the heaviest part of the meal, and each course arriving there after gets lighter and lighter. Be careful when standing up and stepping into the spaces between the tables, the waiters move quickly and efficiently as the place is often very busy. bathrooms are narrow, and well perfumed.

The ambience was good, the restaurant busy increased the expectation of good food. Overall it was an average experience. I being vegetarian chose vegetarian dishes and I have definitely eaten better Indian food. The papadum and the chutney's that were served for me were ok. The poppadoms size could have been bigger for the price. The nan was good, the Dal and jalfrezi from a quantity perspective less for the price that I paid. Overall an ok experience. The restaurant is quite close to canon street tube station. The toilets were not very clean and was stinking.
