Nice evening at this restaurant, was fairly busy, but found us a table. Make great suggestions for us. The grill artichoke was especially worth mentioning, fireworks in your mouth, taste buds were tingling.
Visited Gunpowder in London with high expectations and opted for the Share With 2 menu. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. The meal started with a chaat and a beetroot chop. The chop was noticeably over-fried, losing its texture and flavor. The chaat was essentially a mix of potatoes, yogurt, and chickpeas—missing the layers of tang, spice, crunch, and freshness that make a traditional chaat exciting. It felt one-dimensional and lacked the vibrant flavors I was expecting. The mains included rice, egg curry, and a single piece of chicken tandoori. While both the egg and chicken tasted good, they were swimming in oil, which made the dishes feel unnecessarily heavy. We were also given a kulcha on the house, but it didn’t resemble a kulcha at all. It was more like a pita bread split open with some stuffing—far from what one would expect in terms of texture or authenticity. Overall, I had very high hopes for Gunpowder, but the execution and consistency didn’t match the reputation. There were a few good flavors, but the experience didn’t come together in the way I had hoped.
Sandeep the manager was so attentive and professional, this was a delicious meal with amazing service and great atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend this place more, such a lovely meal for a special occasion too. Some of the best food we have had in a very long time.

e celebrated our civil wedding at gundpowder and couldn’t recommend it any more. Even before the big day, the team were always just a text away, letting us make amendments to the menu as we wished and listening to all our wishes. They even prepared the wedding cake! On the day itself everything went perfectly - obviously the food was amazing but the service was also excellent and it made our day even more special! We loved every moment at Gunpowder and we’ll definitely be back! Thank you
Really good restaurant! The food was really tasty and some was spicy. We went for 4 small plates and 1 shared + dessert. The egg curry masala is really good and spicy and the tandoori chicken chop is mild and super yummy. We definitely recommend the Lamb chop and add the yogourt as a side. Overall it was a great dinner but it was a bit pricy.
A friend recommended us this place and I’m very happy he did. Best Indian food I’ve had outside of India (and it made me wonder… maybe in India too?). Polite waiters who patiently explain the dishes served and good wine menu too. It’s not on the cheaper end, but you really get your money’s worth.
Indian restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere. The food was on the whole quite good. The beef rib is a popular menu item but I found it to be tough. The chicken was delicious.
Quality food and interesting menu, very popular which definitely needs booking in advance. Recommend to go with friends and order multiple small dishes so that you can try out different things! Their cocktails are good too!
This restaurant is right near Tower Bridge. I made a reservation in advance, this is a busy restaurant. The menu offers a variety of small plates and sharing plates which cater for a number of different tastes, be aware veg options are limited. It is definitely a limited choice menu compared to a typical traditional Indian restaurant. The food was served quickly, I went for the small plates and ordered a number of different dishes, similar to tapas. All the plates were presented well and I would say we're all delicious. Relatively expensive but the quality of the produce in each dish can be tasted. Every dish was full of flavour and was unique. My favourite dishes were the soft shell crab, tandoori chicken and duck, however everything was good. The ambience is nice too, we had a booth, service was good. We ate well, so 3 of us with a drink each, the bill came to £213. Probably a little over what I would normally pay, however worth the spend to sample some unique cuisine. I would recommend this as a treat, definitely wouldn't be a regular of mine, reserved for special occasions and treats or if you're looking to impress a date!
