We ordered (takeaway)a vegetarian meal for nearly 10 people at Banana Leaf in Ilford. The food was average for Sri Lankan style. A good place to try if you enjoy Sri Lankan flavors. Recommended!
Worst experience in uk till now biriyani was worst egg was not boiled properly waste of money
The food quality was below average, and the service was extremely poor. The staff, instead of attending to customers, were constantly engaged in their own conversations, causing unnecessary delays in taking and serving orders. During my visit, I also witnessed a situation where a customer who had placed an online order was told it would be ready in an hour. When he arrived after the specified time, his order was still not prepared. Upon asking if at least one item was ready, he was told none were. Frustrated, he cancelled his order and left the restaurant — and understandably so.
Very nice food. Especially the shovel concept is unique and nice. Although service was very poor. The staff were not attentive and infact one member of staff came to ask us if we want anything else probably not realising our order has still not arrived after 40 plus minutes. Would be great of they let the customer know the waiting time for items like shovel.
Good food, not expensive. Virasat (Indian) down the road charges a lot more for similar cuisine. This Sri Lankan restaurant offers good food, not everything super spicy! Drinks offered too. No Jug/Pitcher for the Lassi. Service could be improved. Only 1 cashier/ receptionist so they're busy. Recommended. Maybe takeaway would be easier :)
Delicious, this restaurant does the best Dosa I have ever had and their curries are lovely too. Welcoming and pleasant staff, Naveen our waiter was very thoughtful and helpful.
Worst customer service by couple of men who works there. They must learn manners and how to speak/communicate with customer. Ordered pepper chicken. Delivered at table chilli chicken with pepper sprayed on it. Outside black in colour, but inside red (Chilli) :-)
Waste of money and not the same quality. Today I ordered sea food puttu koththu for 5 portions take away in a tray for my guests. When I gave order, I could hear the sound from the kitchen that there is no sea food but he took my order. Normally it will be delicious with a lot of prawns and squid but unfortunately today they put few prawns only. Nothing else. Really waste of money and really disappointed about the food. Please don't be money minded. Think about the quality as well. I complained to them but they are not ready to accept their fault. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone for take away.
Worst experience. The Most unfunctional and reddest staff. 1 hour and 15 mins for 6 items and also had to leave as they were not ready by then. We were told 20 mins for food pick up and they never got ready. Only 1 server for take away orders, restaurant service and for all things. (I’m not sure about the food quality and taste) Never recommend I prefer give 0 stars if I had an option here
I ordered Vegetable Kottu roti and Chilli Paneer for takeaway. When we started to taste the food the Chilli Paneer tasted awful with a strong bad smell. Glad that we tasted some before we added the Chilli Paneer to our dinner plate. Im going to return this this to the store . Attention to the Banana leaf management: Please advise the staff to concentrate on the food quality and the basic hygiene of the food. In this case they have served me spoilt food.
