Not really impressed with GDK in town. Service was not great and the person serving (some guy with glasses) was not even bothered when taking the order to ensure it was correct. And behold, the food came out cold, fries were not nice, and was not impressed overall. Sadly it’s a two stars!

The person on the til talked fasted and didn’t give you time to process, I felt rushed. I mentioned that he needed to slow down a bit, as it takes me time to process what you’re saying. When the food came out, the fries were sparse. I asked for this to be topped up and he was accommodating. I also noticed that the people(men) in the kitchen handling the food were not wearing any gloves or aprons. They were cross-contamination of the food. As a food establishment it would be expected that food hygiene regulations would be implemented and followed. The upstairs WC(ladies/mens) lavatory were disgusting - flies, toilets blocked with toilet paper and hand paper. Men and women share the same (WC)- 1st toilet cubicle was with the empty bottles that men use to urinate in and pour down the toilet- left on the floor - the 2nd toilet cubicle was for women to use- which is unacceptable for women’s personal safety. The seating upstairs were worn, cracked and torn and can harbour bacteria - these should be replaced- the whole place is of need of a serious refurbishment. I’ll won’t be going back to this establishment and recommend that visitors go the GKB on New Street. Staff there are welcoming, polite and professional, they don’t rush you to make your order, the place is clean throughout and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Top place after a day of drinking! We had little box meals with so much food it was also hot and chips weren't soggy.

As someone who travels to many cities and prefers halal restaurants wherever I go, I usually find a German Döner in almost every city — and I am often very satisfied with them. However, today, I left this place extremely disappointed. Here’s why: 1. Atmosphere and Ambiance: As soon as we entered, there was an overwhelming stuffy smell; the kitchen odors hit you right in the face. Everything looked very messy, disorganized, and worn out. 2. Cleanliness: There were dirty used forks and napkins on the floor, and the staff were stepping over them as they walked by. The tables were sticky with grease and sauce stains from previous customers and had not been cleaned properly. 3. Taste: Both my meal and my spouse’s meal were served cold. The salads inside had no oil, no salt, and no dressing. The fries were also cold. We were both honestly shocked. 4. Restrooms: I was very surprised to see that the male and female restrooms were right next to each other without any separation. This is a basic expectation considering the general clientele of a halal restaurant. In fact, even many British restaurants ensure this comfort with separate entrances for men and women. I was very surprised and disappointed. Moreover, the restrooms were extremely dirty. 5. Music: There was very loud pub-style music with heavy bass playing. It was extremely overwhelming. Of course, music could be adjusted easily, but their choice of music shows how disconnected they are from the spirit of this business. I truly did not want to write a negative review, but I felt I had to, with much regret and disappointment. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and improvements are made because German Döner is a brand — and this branch does not reflect the brand’s reputation at all. I am sorry to say this.

I am really impressed with the quality and taste of food. It's up to standard. Kebab bread is fantastic and very similar to a traditional Turkish. Food is bit expensive. But it's worth it. There is far too much waste which needs to be addressed. Every food item is at least two layers of packaging deep. Overall I would recommend that it's worth trying at least once.

My first time eating from GDK. Had to wait around 25 mins to get my food. The chicken donner was dry, bland - basically scraps of chicken! It had a pungent overpowering taste of lemon.

This is my guilty pleasure. I really like German Doner and have it on occasion. However I find those who construct the meals have next to no pride. If I order the option with salad, then I expect it to have a decent quantity of salad. Instead when I unwrapped the sandwich and saw the contents, I was annoyed. I had to search for the salad amongst the copious amounts of meat. Really unpleasant when I finally spotted it, pasted to the sandwich like it had been prepared from the night before. This occurred on Tue 20th September around 12:00 from Bull St in Birmingham. Yuk. Have a word with your staff. Why didn't my sandwich resemble the image promoted? I will give this chain ONE more chance, because my previous order had no salad at all. Come on with everything being so expensive, I expect quality.

It was so very delicious! My Coco kebab came wrapped in a pink coconut and almond waffle. The OG looked really good too with its fluffy sesame bread. Our meals came with a wet wipe which we really appreciated. You can order from your table and have it delivered to you. Business was brisk at lunch time on a Thursday.

This was atrocious! Going out with my friends and hoping to expect good food after a long busy day was put to an end when we received our food!! We had ordered burgers and, expecting the burger to be hot and delicious however that was not the case at all! It was cold and mushy. We asked for it to be heated up and though it was a minor mistake of some sort BUT THEN they had bought a whole new burger for one of my friends? We thought they may have confused the order and when we went down to ask about the lettuce being taken out, they responded by giving us a bag of lettuce?? furthermore the burger was still cold? We were annoyed and frustrated. Something also staggering was the food on the table beside us was also cold and they were not pleased! Not to mention the taste of the food, it was so horrendous that we had to go to a dixy nearby!! The food looks nothing like the photos and was a complete disappointment!! The customer service and food was an absolute fail! Will not be returning here again...
