   First time at this shop today and super disappointed. When we got home after leaving the area we realised it was expired by weeks, not just a couple of days. To make matters worse, there were only a few bottles on the shelf so it should have been easy to check and remove them. It’s ridiculous that expired products are being sold. Really frustrating experience and not what we expected for our first visit. Bitte fernhalten von diesem Laden und eure Produkte von Freunden und Familie zu euch bringen lassen!! Wucher und abgelaufene Produkte **Edit/Update: After the business’s reply, I want to add that my issue is about transparency. The bottle I bought only had a plain white price sticker, with no sign it was reduced. At the till, nothing was mentioned even when we said it was our first time here. I also saw another review where the same issue happened and the business called it an “oversight,” but with mine the explanation changed to landfill and customer choice. If reducing waste was really the goal, it would be made clear at the point of sale. Instead, it feels like old stock is being passed off as regular goods. Ridiculous.

   I’ve used Too Good To Go several times and usually had great experiences. However, I was very disappointed with my recent pickup from the German Deli. I received a selection of breads, but some were clearly 2, even 2.5 days old. I fully understand that this app is about reducing food waste and that products are from the same day, but I do not expect to receive bread that’s couple days old. That’s not just surplus — it feels like clearing out stale stock. Just last month I bought a similar deal from another bakery near the Winery on Blackhorse Lane, and everything was same-day fresh, as it should be. Selling bread that old, even as part of Too Good To Go, is really disappointing and doesn’t reflect the standard I’d expect from a local artisan food company.

   German Deli had a great selection when they still operated in Borough Market. Ever since their relocation to E17, operating almost entirely online, the selection has drastically reduced. Blame Brexit, or what not, but it's a real shame and genuine loss to the German community. Any fresh food is almost pointless to order online, since delivery dates are far out. The website is a nighmare to use, impossible to find any product unless you know the exact name for what you're looking for. I'm now shopping at my brick and mortar Polish Deli, which has similar products. Sorry, but not coming back.

   I have not been in person but have ordered from them several times before. Have had issues with delivery and items missing. This time 2 loaves of bread where missing from a fairly large order of many smaller items. Given the size of the bread and weight it would have should have been pretty clear on packing the box these 2 main items were missing. Unfortunately not. I found them missing, notified them and received an incredibly flat response. Not addressing that most other items in the order i.e. fresh meats/accompaniments to clearly go with bread and with a very short shelf live- had been ordered specifically for a lunch that weekend. Very disappointing with the lack of diligence packing orders in not spotting obvious items missing - as well as poor customer service, no ounce of friendliness whatsoever to demonstrate any appreciation of the inconvenience caused.

   Great hidden Gem if you like German food (bread / cake too). And sausages on Friday to Sunday, yum! It's definitely the wurst place in E17

   Found this place while in search of Paderborn bread. Wow! It won't be the last time I go there. The bread is perfect. While there , I was tempted by the cheesecake and a mini quiche . Both excellent!
