Food was amazing before it was taken over! I’ve always ordered the same thing duck in plum sauce had barely any flavour. But the love of my life salt and pepper chicken wings were soggy full of liquid no crunch whatsoever! Won’t be ordering again
Been here a few times since it’s been taken over and never had a bad meal. Full of flavour Good size portions Great value for money! Cash and card payments which is a bonus Salt & pepper munchy box was to die for! Would highly recommend We will be back that’s for sure. :)
NEW OWNERSHIP AVOID!!! Me and all my friends used to love this place was genuinely the best Chinese in the area but it’s now actually vile. Chips like bad oven chips. Bad quality meat with a chewy and jelly like texture. Everything has been downsized and cheapened.
Very disappointing food. Never used Oriental House because we weren’t fans of the food but we saw it was under new ownership so thought we’d give it a try. Had really high hopes and were so disappointed. The chow mein was completely lacking in flavour. It was just wet noodles and anemic duck (the duck was really pale). The soft noodles again just lacked flavour, nothing to them. My partner got the Munchie box which he described as ‘naff’. There was a lot of food in it but the food was all just ok. The chicken was dry and everything was just not great. Overall, really disappointed and won’t be ordering again which is a shame.
We had a beautiful meal this evening. Thoroughly enjoyed it, we will definitely be ordering again. Ordered an delivered within the hour and piping hot
Great food different from the usual menus which is a refreshing change, the service is very good, but the shop is cold, and needs a major facelift, but do not be put off by the decor, many other Chinese takeaways are far dearer and unjustified in their price hikes which is no more than greed, but the Oriental House is a definite favourite.
Bought a takeaway last night and it was so disappointing! We got two Chop suey rolls, chips, egg fried rice and bbq sauce. The Chop suey rolls were bland, the bean sprouts had a lack in flavour and even the meat inside didn’t help to make it better, they were a very very crunchy like it had been pre cooked and then cooked again, the chips were very over cooked and some were solid. The bbq sauce looked so good but didn’t have much flavour either. The rice was the best thing about it all as it had a bit of flavour. Very disappointing won’t be coming back sadly even though a year ago it was brilliant quality
Always delicious food from here! We actually switched from a different local Chinese takeaway that we had used for a while, as we were so impressed!
food suck. rice hard, coke a cola too bad warm, food spalt dileveryies hand terrible. they also take too long and everything was bad rotten cold hard and crisp. never eat here again.
