My mother regularly visits this cafe with friends so took me along too as I'm up visiting. We've been twice together now and I just love the food and cakes here! The lady owner makes the sweet treats which is impressive and the cheese toasties are something out of a dream. All melty inside and crispy on the top from the extra cheesy goodness added there. They make nice hot drinks and everything is reasonably priced (toasties £6 and very filling). It's a lovely place to sit in the park and the regulars are friendly. No one seems to hog tables so we have been able to sit there both times. However, in busy times there are plenty of nice benches in the park to take a coffee and cake. Lovely place and the ladies are nice and friendly, even when rushed off their feet. They always say hello to my mum by name (and to others I've heard) so they obviously care about their customers.

The women who run this cafe are the rudest women and have no people skills. My young son found a bee in the park that looked like it needed help so I sent him to the cafe to ask for tap water and sugar and the woman laughed at him and said no. When I confronted her about her being rude a men laughing at him I was also spoke to disgustingly. Trying to teach my son kindness and helping creatures and he is met with rudeness from someone who is supposed to have customer service skills. Disgusting.

Really disappointed I never give bad reviews. I used to enjoy coming here. Until today in the past I’ve waited awhile for a drink inside which is fine that happens. So today I sat out outside with my dog my partner went in and ordered food and drinks he was in there ages. Didn’t know it was busy anyways I sat outside they kept shouting an order out nobody answered. Lady came up to me said are they yours I said I don’t know ask my partner in the cafe. She came back and said these are probably yours so I thought he must be waiting for drinks I can’t see through walls as they think I can. Thought they had asked him. My partner came back and said that’s not our order so he went back cancelled the one I’d eaten just had his to come. Apparently was someone’s else’s order. They spoke to my partner like rubbish shouting between them then I could hear them calling me. Lady came out with order I explained and she said was her fault I was like I don’t appreciate being slagged off could hear them making out I was stupid at the end of the day I’m a paying customer wasn’t my fault I’m not being made to feel stupid. She went back in they was shouting again. Very unprofessional rude! Need customer service skills and numbers given out for orders. Won’t be going back shame as they do nice food.

I went to Java after parkrun with a couple of park running friends. It was recommended by the team at Hyde parkrun and I can see why. There’s a really good range of food and drink available, and the prices are very reasonable indeed. We each had a really tasty, freshly baked pain au raisin, and one friend had the scrambled eggs on toast. This, along with three hot drinks, came in under £14. The service was first class, and they kindly replace one of the drinks I managed to spill. There’s only limited seating inside, but plenty of space outside. Highly recommended.

I didn't expect to find a Java Espresso bar in Hyde Park. Best coffee in Hyde.

Situated at the main gates of a beautiful park, a great stop off for a drink or bite to eat whilst in the park, they are open year round and have seating indoors and out ( don't expect to escape the cold in winter its just as cold inside!) They have toilets and are wheel chair accessible. Basic menu but the food is good and prices fair, staff are always nice also!
